The sure way is to:
1. Clean all the shelves by removing all the crumbs or lose food or food stuck on the shelf, then wash the the shelves with detergent and water to get them clean, be sure to remove any thing that is sticky, grimy or oilly.
2. Spray an insecticide on all the shelves (follow the instructions on the aerosol can) and let dry completely before you replace anything back on the shelves.
3. If you have flour with bugs in it, get rid of ALL the flour first before you buy more, also get rid of any package that may contain pests.

Is important to KEEP all the shelves CLEAN, eventfully all the pest will die due to the residue of the insecticide on the shelves.

Those little pests don't actually get inside your food packages after you put them up. They come in most foods, meal, noodles, flour, etc. The key is to store them in air-tight containers, out of their original package, so that they never hatch. Tupperward makes good ones, Rubbermaid, and even Ziplock works. Just be sure you squeeze all the air out of whatever you use. Hope this helps. BTW, I used to work for Tupperware, that's how I know this, and it really is the truth. And, yes, they're called mealy beatles. Completely harmless but you don't want to find one in your next batch of biscuits.

These bugs are weevils, the love cereal, dry dog food, products with a grains base in them.
the only thing to do is throw away all foods infected, clean the area, and put these types of products in air tight containers, they dont have to be expensive containers, just tight fitting. Do not keep these such products for a long period of time, thinking one day I'll cook this, more that likely the weevils will eat them before you.
This happened to me after 35 years of homemaking because I could'nt throw the food away, money down the drain, wrong it was food for the critters.
Check you expiration dates, I just bought ice cream from a store, the expiration date was 9-05, this ice cream was 1 year old at the local Qt
Be WEEVIL FREE!

Pests become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of pests by removing the food source and using soap water. I found the information at http://www.pests.in useful.

You need some containers with air tight seals. If you can't afford any Tupperware (seriously, it's the best) go for the Rubbermaid ones at Wal-mart. Good luck.

They are probably pantry moths - use the airtight containers and get some pantry moth traps from a hardware store - they have a sticky interior that catches them and they go away in a couple weeks.

in addition to air tight containers, use a treated shelf paper. The one I know of is is called "No Bugs M'lady" I haven't seen a bug since I started using it.
