I bought a set of kitchen knives a few months ago... they came with a wooden block. Some of the knives are getting rust spots. How do I stop this? How do I get rid of it? Where is the rust coming from? Are these crappy quality knives? The price didn't seem like they were cheap.

Cheap Knives Rust. If you want to get rid of the rust (or to prevent rust) don't let them air dry, towel dry them.

You bought some very fine knives (even though they are not stainless as some idiots think they HAVE to be)! The best of this kind is "OLD HICKORY" and have been used by professional butchers for years,, an easy way to clean these is to plunge them in sand repeatedly,,or use steel pads,,, SOS works too.. rinse thoroughly and dry well,, then apply a thin coat of Crisco type grease and wipe dry... never allow these to soak in the sink over night or you will have rust build up in the handles!
these are easy to sharpen to a VERY sharp edge that you could shave with,,, which you can't do with most of todays stainless jobs

You can use an S.O.S. pad on them. Wash them good and dry them. Put cooking oil on them and wipe off the blade. The reason was they came in contact with water for to long. Just because you pay a good price for the knifes doesn't mean that they are good quality. Then again, I like carbide blades, they sharpen easier. they will rust if I don't dry then right away.

First of all, I'd return them to the store and buy yourself some stainless steal knives. But if you can't return them I wouldn't use them anymore, you wouldn't want to eat the food after using them with the rust on them. Or write the company if you have there information and let them know, maybe they'll sent you a replacement set.

I wash , towel dry them and put a thin coat of oil, and then wipe this off, too. Keeps the rust off.

it sound like you have put them in a dishwasher. Dont ever do that if you want to keep good utensils. You have dry immediately after wash. basically throw out and buy a new set sorry
