Had water damage to wood floor in my new home prior to closing. The builder removed most of the floor in the room and had it replaced. There were gaps..wood fill..and splintered..raised areas throughout. It also damages easily.ie.desk chairs have pads on legs but still marks floor. The rep cut saw lines in the bad boards and chisselled them up. The replacement looked even worst. This is tongue and groove. When I examined the new boards, the actually stained wood part is very..very thin.
I paid a lot for this one room as an upgrade to blend in with the rest of my downstairs. They charged me $1055.00 for a 12X12 room. Finally they have agreed to redo the entire room ..which will be a totaly mess. But one problem ..they called today and said the mannington heartland oak (nutmeg) has been discontinued. They want me to choose a lesser quality beveled edge floor that is similar in color. However it will clash with the room it flows into.
I feel I paid for "real hardwood" & got a veneer.

I rent an apartment. The air condioning does not blow cool air anymore. The filter is clean. I checked the switch, it works. The inside fan comes on, but the outside fan, in the unit itself does not. I checked the circuit, and when the switch is on inside, the circuit closes on the outside, but the fan still does not come on. I assume it needs replacing, but is there any way to find out EXACTLY what is the cause of the problem?

And what is the lamination for? For corrosion resistance, doesn't brass do the job just as well?

This is my first time so I hope I categorised the question correctly.

I live in Santa Cruz, CA and I dug up the dirt in my backyard and threw down some grass seeds. The section I planted is growing great but I was wondering how long I should wait to walk on it and if there is a suggested watering amount. Any tips on growing grass in general are welcome too.

I look at the care instructions for a dark blue towel - and it is definitely dark blue - but it says "machine wash lights" or something. I am new to laundry, and the reason I selected this towel was in order to wash it with other "darks." Should I ignore it and wash it with darks without anything going wrong, or should I wash it with lights? It doesn't make sense. Would someone please explain it to me?

The garage is a garage and will need to be a garage again in a year's time. I am moving in with friends and I wanted to live in the garage because I kind of like being away from the main place and kind of have a place of my own. But what can I do to make it more comfortable to be a bedroom? For pet's we set bug bombs in there but how would I be able to keep them out? and I live in Iowa so it might get cold but there is a old propane heater in the other garage how easy is it to install to put in the other garage..but the main problem would be is keeping the pests out and the comfortablity of living there. There is a loft also and I would like to use that as a space but it gets so hot in the summer.

I recently had a duplicate key made for the entrance door of my house. My original house key and the duplicate key look exactly the same. The duplicate key fits perfectly into the lock, but it won't turn. Do you know the problem? Thanks!

Don't tell me to shop somewhere else for my big shops.
I want to be the FASTEST packer in the store, with no more lines backing up behind me.
