In my area we have a problem with most maple trees developing spots that kill the leafs .Each leaf is covered in spots i've searched for the cause coming up with mold as a source of the inffection.Does anyone else have the same problem as we do .I'm in eastern Ontario Canada ,if anyone has serious info for me i'd appreciate it ty.

I've seen something similar on our maple trees in Maine. It could be a viral disease or a fungus, but happening so late in the season, it may do no harm. The trees will probably be ok next spring.

In the U.S., our state univesities have a plant disease specialist on staff. You might inquire if you have a counterpart there, who can diagnose and suggest treatment, free of charge.

http://infosource.uwex.edu/ here is good place to look for info. i have maples to and they would get black bumps on the lower leaves. and would start to wilt .i just left them, didnt look good though, but did not hurt tree, i think the bumps are called galls
