Do you have well water? Well either way that is what sulfur smells like. My parents have it in their water and pipes. ( It is not harmful)

I doubt if it is mold this soon, but if you don't get the water away from the house, it could develop mold. We had a water leak that caused major water in the walls. The company came and punched holes in the walls and brought in huge fans. It is really working against time, because when the mold starts, it is hard to get rid of it. It is just a can of worms, and won't get into that. Bleach is the best if you know where it is, and of course, try to direct the water away from the house. If it starts to drain soon, then you will be ok, but just keep an eye on it. Especially if it continues to rain. Did you say drains under the house? I am not familiar with that, I did not see that in Texas, New Mexico, or California, unless you are on a raised foundation and that is something I am not aware of, usually it is at the top around the edge of the roof. Maybe something in the soil and is causing that odor when it gets wet.

When we haven't had heavy rain for quite some time, and then there's a deluge (like there was here last evening) all the 'crud' that's accumulated in the drains gets washed away, stirring up all the sediment at the bottom. That's what causes the smell. It's good that the rain has washed it all away because it's all clean now!

Could be poor ground drainage or no vapor barrier under house, you may need to install drain tile around your home and direct the water flow to a lower elevation if possible,or into a french drain. You can rent a trench digger (fairly easy to operate in non-rocky soil). Check to see if you have black plastic spread out under your home and nicely tucked up over foundation, if not install new. It could also be a roof problem (poor venting) or (old shingles).

...strong bleach and hot water, in the drains, pet. Or open up the drains and find - then force muck through the pipes.

Yeah it is. Mine gets like that too. It doesn't help if you live on a river like I do either, cuz it makes it smell worse.
