I love the look of a platform bed and i am considering purchasing one in the next few weeks. But I am worried that this bed will end up making me hate it.

My bed already is just a box spring and a mattress on the floor and to be honest I LOVE IT ( box spring broke about a year ago so I had to ditch the plain frame), but I am scared like the mattress will slide on the platform. I am a wild sleeper and I know you dont want to hear this but you know what else goes on in a bed...I do not want the mattress and us to end up on the floor.

So does anyone have any experience with one?

I just read an article that said that it should not be there, but I think it's the perfect place because they are both noisy.

I had some in my hand and I pulled the prickly things out with tweezers but I can't get it out from my behind and hopefully it won't get stuck in even more. I believe this is like if you got a splinter on the behind but will my body eventually push the prickers out?

I'm shopping for new bedding for my guest bed, and I'm thinking about buying a sheet set that can be monogrammed.

Do you think it would be inappropriate to put my initials on a sheet set intended for a guest bed?

I like the idea of adding a personal touch to my bedding, but I'm also afraid that it might make my guests feel like they are intruding on my space.

What do you think?

Has anyone used or heard of using glu-lams, such as Versa-Lam or Micro-Lam Beams for an exterior deck Ledger & Band Board instead of the normal treated lumber?

It will be covered with home wrap & sided.

Also, what about using engineered joists as the floor joists?

Any problem with moisture or decay concerns due to the exterior use?

I live in upstate New York. We had some bad winds a while back and my home was damaged. I am asking for help to repair this problem. As it is allowing mold spors to grow in the walls. I have young children and I know that it is not good for them. As a single parent, who works two jobs, I am doing my best but not getting anywhere. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks for reading...

I recently stripped the paint of of my old cabinets and am now in the process of sanding them before staining them. I am using 50 grit, 150, and 220 for the finish. How do I know when the wood has been sanded enough to finish and stain?

I spent seven hours putting a new door on for one of my older friends in the neighborhood. He's very old which is why he cannot see very well. He doesn't realize that I accidentally installed it upside down, and he's very impressed with it. The door has a fancy window in it, and I am ashamed that I did not realize it was upside down until after I spent seven hours working on it.

I am one of the only younger friends this man has in the area, and his family lives too far away to help him out with this.

I feel bad about leaving it this way, but I don't know if I would have time to take the door off and put it on again all in one day (it would take a whole weekend at least for me!). What should I do?

Remember: this man is very impressed with it just the way it is...
