So how to peacock feathers and egg shells keep lizards away?

This was an answer to someone's Q and I am curious how this would work.

I can't think of a reason why they would. It would be a very expensive way to get rid of them in any case. If you really dislike lizzards, then it might be better to get a trap or an owl statue. Peacock feathers are really expensive. Lizzards and snakes love eggs, so I don't think that would work either. Even if it was only the shells.
