I have had 3 appraisals done, for different mortgage companies. The first was very good. The second, I don't know much about, but after the company got it back they started to process our application, so it must have been ok, the third one had false statements on it and even a picture they said was of the inside of my house which showed a moldy wall to back up their claim that we need a new roof. That picture was not of the inside of my house, I do not have a leak, do not have a moldy wall, and have no idea where they got the picture. Was it incompetence or did they do it deliberately? I think so, I can't imagine why, but it lost us the refinance we were trying for. What should I do? I have talked to another appraiser who offered to look at my house for free, but that would be a 4th appraisal and what good would that do? These people are licensed and must have some standards to meet, must be required to file honest reports. Who should I call to report what I feel is fraud?

I have a beautiful wood floor in my home (my husband is a floor installer) he freaked out when he saw me using water and vinegar to clean it with (bit of dish soap too). He said NO WATER!! But he didn't have a good suggestion for what to use. He just said get a floor cleaner. Most floor cleaners I see are also polishes. I don't want to polish a dirty floor...right? Please help.

I am looking to heat my home with a corn stove. Currently I use natural gas which is about $12.00 per unit (I can't remember the unit). I keep hearing about corn and it being more cost effective then natural gas.

How much does it cost per month in corn/electricity to run the stove? How warm will it be?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

I'm looking for a wood that won't sag over time or be extremely heavy. I was told to stay away from partical board (will sag) and plywood (way to heavy). I want to stain the wood, not paint it white or anything like that so I need a wood that looks nice also. I was told to use a solid hardwood but I can't seem to find 'sheets' of wood wide enough to build an entertainment system. Any info (along with websites that sell the stuff) would be appreciated.

Would propane addition be good? switch completely to $ oil $ There are 2 fireplaces but do not want to get into wood stoves, because this was my inlaws house and i rent it out and don't want the tennants burning it down.. My husband was going to handle this but just died suddenly of cancer. I know I dont HAVE to upgrade, tennants pay for heat, but I can deduct cost of upgrade on taxes and make the house more attractive to potential tennants (winter heating costs top 800/month!) its about 2500 sq. feet.
ONE MORE THING since I still have 400 characters :-) What kind of caulk should I use (A)around outside doors and (B) around the bathtub surround? 2 different types? Thanks in advance, look for more queries in future!!

My kitchen sink has this fake pull-out drawer looking thing on it - it's a double-sink and under each of them is a small pull-out drawer teaser. Our nieghbors has theirs so it'll flip down and they can store the kitchen sponge and SOS pads and such in it - it declutters the area very nicely. Any idea if it's easy to do or how to even go about doing it?

It started sputtering like it was out of / low on gas. I added gasto the tank and it still sputters, almost like it is fully choked but the usual dark/blue smoke doesn't appear like normal for full choke.

I setup the carburetor and set the throttle linkage acoording to the manufacturers specs but it will only stay running at full choke or idle. I did the setup process a couple of times.

I have not checked fuel line for blockage yet. It does have a solenoid on the carburetor. The engine is old, I'd guess close to 20 years but was running great.

Ideas?

I don't know anything about home security systems, so I'm not sure if this was installed by the builder or if this was something that was added on by a previous owner. Do the companies like ADT install their own stuff or would any random company be able to use whatever is already installed in my house????
