I am looking to heat my home with a corn stove. Currently I use natural gas which is about $12.00 per unit (I can't remember the unit). I keep hearing about corn and it being more cost effective then natural gas.

How much does it cost per month in corn/electricity to run the stove? How warm will it be?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

Hers just one website with info on corn stoves. My husband was actually looking for them. I hear there very economical. If you go to this link and click on FAQS page it tells you how much corn and how large of radius it heats and so on.
Hope that helps.

I have wood pellet stove which can burn both corn and wood pellets. I have the largest you can buy - 68,000BTU If you live in a cold area, buy big! Have friends which are kicking there BUNS for buying a small unit, you can burn less with a larger unit ! You know the rest of the story.

I live in Western Maryland. The coldest day, this pellet stove is VERY "nice", should of done this years ago.

I know someone in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that uses one. He goes through about 3 tons (6,000 pounds) per winter. Much cheaper than using either natural gas or electricity.
