Check the weight limits on whatever you buy...I hung a mirror for the redhead a while back, and I bought two 50-pound hooks to be on the safe side (the thing probably weighed close to twenty pounds). Make sure you nail 'em in studs, too. Better to overkill than have the thing come crashing down in the middle of the night...

well first, you need to find out if there are any studs in the wall in the area that you want to hang the mirror. if there are, you can get some wall anchors and anchor them into the studs and hang it.
if you dont have any studs in the area, and it is just sheetrock, it depends on how heavy the mirror is. You dont want a $200 mirror falling off the wall!!
your best bet is to hang it in an area where there are studs. you can use a stud finder (can be purchaced at walmart or home depot or lowes, pretty cheap and usually electronic) to find them. if the mirror isn't really heavy, you can buy anchors for the sheetrock, but it's like i said, it depends on how heavy the mirror is, be careful!
ask the workers at the hardware store where you look for a stud finder if they have any suggestions as well!
I bought a $100 framed mirror, it's huge! but i have no studs, so it will keep leaning up against the wall until i get a new house where i can hang it :(
Good Luck!!

If the mirror has hanging hardware on the back, use plastic wall anchors, screws and picture-hanging wire to attach it to the wall. Unless it's very, very heavy or very, very big, two such anchor/screw combos will be enough. If the mirror doesn't have any hanging hardware on the back, get a picture hanging kit and screw into the frame the little eye-screws provided and then proceed as above, twisting the picture-hanging wire securely around the eye-screws. If the frame is metal or something and can't take the screws, you might want to take the mirror to a frame shop and let them take the responsibility for gluing or otherwise attaching some hanging hardware to the back. Then proceed as above.

Depends on the overall weight. If it is under 50 pounds, then most plastic anchors will work fine. The better ones are marked for weight capacity.
This assumes that the back has a wire mounted at two points on the back.
If really heavy, only use toggle bolts (metal) to be sure it will stay put.

Find out how much the mirror weighs, (weigh yourself then hold the picture and weigh again, difference is the weight of the mirror) then go to hardware store and get a hanger rated for about double that amount. Instructions included in the package with the mounts for installation.

Look for a stud in the wall. Nails or screws on that then hang it.
without a stud you're kinda screwwed if the mirror is heavy, maaaybe wall anchors would work but probably not.
ps- stud is a board frame that the drywall is built around.

attach a strong wire to the back of frame, secure..
place 2 anchors or picture hooks on wall... Make sure they are for the right weight, as they come in different sizes, packages will state weights..
I would use 2 for extra support, especially with a mirror.
measure and hang evenly
then stand back, and admire your work..

On something big and heavy like a mirror, you do not want to add hanging wire to the d-rings. The mirror should be hung with two nails or hooks, one on each d-ring. It will take a little more measuring to hang, but it will guarantee a safer wall mount.

Make sure you find a stud (or better yet, two of them) behind the drywall (if your wall is drywall) to use. Then get some of those little plastic anchors (called mollys) and a drill and put them in, then screw the screws into them. Then put up your mirror!

If the mirror is framed it usually has a hook or two in the back for you to hang it on the wall. If you could locate the stud (wooden upright) behind the wall then just drill a tiny hole and screw in a picture hanger (it is shaped like a question mark). If the wall is hollow then you need to use 'toggle bolts' if it is a really heavy piece. For a lighter mirror you can use the plastic anchors with screws.
