Is it a lack of vitamins/malnutrition? Or is it a prelude to a bigger problem in the future?

With my health insurance I can see either an Opthamologist or a Optometrist. Which type of eye doctor should I see and why? I have a slight twitch in my eye I want the doc to look at and I need a new prescription for eyeglasses.

I wore contact lenses for ten years and had this guy from the Lyon Contact Lens Center that was supposed to be sooooo Christian and when I told him I was thinking of getting lasik or whatever the exact term is he emphasized to me the "danger" of having that done.

I had it done a few years ago and found it to be painless, fairly affordable (1,000 USD) and got 20/20 vision from what was severe nearsightedness. My result has never changed over the years since the procedure. I never experienced one problem with it and I had two other family members do it at the same time I did and they're both fine too.

All the contact lens specialists in that office now as I recall always tried to get me to buy the most expensive latest model contact lens too even though they knew I didn't need it and was a broke student!!!

What pisses me off is they are so endorsed by the Christian community and that is why I went with the guy's recommendations for me to buy this or that for years.

My eye doctor insistes that I use the drops for 6 weeks after cateract surgery; but the package inserts say two weeks for Nevanac and ten days for Econopred Plus. I have dry eye and that makes this even more pressing as they warn about that. The MD says 6 weeks is standard and the benefits outweigh the risks. Do you have any knowlwdge of this?

Hello everyone:)

I am 22 years old, and just had a strabismus surgery done on two muscles on my right eye two days ago. The doctor said it went fine - it was strictly cosmetical surgery, and the eye seems to be moving same as the left eye now. Which is good!

However, I am worried about the recovery now. My eye is red, and it's leaky all the time, but that's normal, I guess. It also hurts from time to time - nothing I can't stand, though. Here's the thing I'm worried about - my operated eye is swollen!!! Is that usual? Does that happen often? Cause I can deal with the redness, but it just looks really bad like this, and it gets me really worried.

And if it's happened to some of you - what do I do to make it go away? I would really want my eye to look as normal as it can (red's fine, at least not swollen) by Wednesday, which is two days from now.

Thank you so much in advance!

Sneska

I have Acuvue Oasys Contacts. I don't sleep in them but I stay up very late but then again I also wake up very late. However they get dry and blurry as it gets later on the night. I tried taking them out and putting them back in and I've also tried Visine drops. They don't really work. Is it just my eyes or is it the contacts? Any thing I can do?

get headaches from-
lack of sleep
too much sleep
sun
heat
exercise
contacts...[there the right prescription and i take good care of cleaning them.]
stress.
too much computer and tv

im 12 years old.started getting almost daily headaches about 2 months ago-and its still going on.

i havnt been to the doctor in over a year.
headaches are sometimes associated with
nausea;
dizziness;
and light headedness.
could this be a brain tumor...or just migrains?

I am going to have my first eye exam in 2 weeks and I have been reading a lot about what happens and asking questions to lots of people, but what I haven't gotten cleared up is:

If the doctor decides to do a dilation test, will I still be able to have a contact fitting? Or will they want to schedule another appointment?

Well, I'd really like to try out eye exercises, but I had a question. Do eye exercises stretch your retinal? If so, won't that result in a higher chance of a retinal detachment?

I jus had an eye exam yesterday and the doctor could tell I had a lazy eye. But I had my lazy eye corrected when I was 7. I was wondering if anyone knew if the surgery I had when I was 7 is able to go away after awhile.

Sometimes I have a hard time figuring out the difference between brown and hazel eyes. I've always thought that dark brown eyes were brown eyes with no other colors mixed in. Brown eyes can have some green and other colors mixed in, but are predominantly brown. Hazel eyes, in my opinion, look hazel all the time and not just in bright lighting. Is this right?

I recently went to see the optometrist to get my eyes check and i needed a stronger prescription. When i'm out in public places like shopping centres, thing that are long distance are very unclear to see.Should I wear them all the time?
