I jus had an eye exam yesterday and the doctor could tell I had a lazy eye. But I had my lazy eye corrected when I was 7. I was wondering if anyone knew if the surgery I had when I was 7 is able to go away after awhile.

Did he say turned eye or lazy eye? Did you were a patch at age 7 or just have surgery? Does one eye see blurry, even with glasses compared to the other?

A lazy eye (amblyopia) is an eye which does not see well, even with glasses. It is not corrected with surgery. A turned eye (strabismus) is corrected with surgery. Strabismus can be a cause of lazy eye.

The surgery may not have fully corrected the eye turn at age 7. Also, if one eye is lazy, the eye turn can reoccur and a second surgery may be needed.

Did the doctor suggest a treatment like glasses or exercises or more surgery? It is very difficult to treat lazy eye after age 12 and more surgery is usually only suggested if you are not happy with your appearance.

No you will need another operation if you feel its still too low. My son was born with the same problem and that's what we were told about his condition. They will probably lift the eye lid an additional 1 or 2 millimeters.
