Hi, I am an 18 year old asian female who has a grandmother with glaucoma. Just recently (April) I had a "Red eye infection", and went to the optometrist right away. They said that my intraocular pressure was way higher than normal and gave me some drops. When I looked up the side effects for red eye I found out that glaucoma can be the cause of it. Am I too young to have glaucoma? Plus, can I get LASIK done when Im older? I have really bad nearsightedness and have bad astigmatism to top it off, and possibly glaucoma (I will see a glaucoma specialist in september). Will I end up going blind?

I had a cataract when I was young. After the surgery I was legally blind with 20/400 vision. After the surgery we tried patching, and it did not help. A couple of years ago, my vision in my bad eye improved to 20/200. My eye doctor said that my vision was most likely at it's peak. Well, this year it's 20/100. I was wondering if patching at this age (16) would help improve they eye further to where corrective lens would help it.

I placed an order with a company under the impression they carry prescription theatrical contacts in stock, since it said ships immediately, but it turns out just like almost all the places I see, they need to order from the manufacturer. Of course, this just happens to be inconvenient, I really need the contacts by Thursday, and am willing to pay all manner of prices for a service/company that will send me a theatric lens in my prescription. Surely there must be SOME place that bought multiple prescriptions of a contact and thus have them in stock?

Can evolution take place in modern time? Would humans evolve into a population with better vision or continue to be poor sighted if they did not have seeing eye glasses?

Iam blind in one eye. When I was born I was born early. When I was learning how to walk I fell and hit it on the corrnor of the table. So that caused it to hemerage. I dont like this having 1 eye. I have had problems with kids malking fun of me that caused me to get mad so I hit them in the face. I really want 2 know so I can see what normal people see.

Okay.. I have double eyelids and they are annoying me. I'm a really energetic person, and I like to be energetic but the creases make me look like a really sleepy person.. Everyone says they're great but I can't look myself in the mirror bc that's not me. Is there a way to make my double eyelids less obvious? I don't want to have surgery or anything.. Thanks ^^

Hi. I'm scheduled for my final exam to clear me for surgery and my surgery is scheduled for Friday the 27th. I'm nervous. I have thin corneas, but I really want to get this done. With as much as I spend on classes and sunglass, it will pay for itself in 3.5 years. Has anyone had any problems at all or know anyone who has had problems? Also any good things, please tell me.

My daughter is 5 years old. She was born w/a lazy eye. We have been working on fixing it. I took her to a specialist, and she wearing, 1 contact in her bad eye and glasses with the contact, she is suppose to wear the patch along w/both of them. I noticed though I patched her eye for 1 week for about 4 hours a day. and I noticed her GOOD eye going crossed. That to me is a bad sign. Should I stop patching or should I countine with it?

if you have bad eye sight for most of your life (like you have to wear glasses or contacts) , does that mean that you will one day develop macular degeneration? or go blind?

I am 18 years old. When I was 13 years old I had an eye test and the doctor said that my right eye is lazy and I wouldn't be able to see well even with the help of the eye glasses because my right eye hasn't grown well. Is there any help. I have no hope. However I can see well if I open both of my eyes. But with my right eye alone, the image would be so blurry....

Is it because of the lense inside my eye is defective??
or the muscles that adjust the lense have something wrong with them?
or my cornea is shaped different (too steep or whatever)?
or is it because my eyeball is too long so the image is unable to focus on the retina?
or could it be either of these or a combination...
I do know that the cornea and the lense work together to focus the image on the retina and the muscles work to fatten or elongate the lense in order to focus the image.
I have been researching this a lot but haven't been able to find the answer so if anyone knows I will greatly appreciate an answer!!
Also, if you have an tips on how to prevent my vision from getting worse, let me know.
