I'm 20 years old and have 450/450 vision. It just keeps getting worse every year. Is this ever going to stop? or is there any way to reverse it? I've been not wanting to go to the opthalmologist/optometrist as they will only prescribe higher graded glasses which will (as I read) even speed up the degradation of the eyes.

Right now my vision is 20/70 20/100.
I have glasses,. but like NEVER wear them bcuz I don't like them very much....I just don't like anything on my face...and we can't get contacts for me right now. I was wondering....
If I don';t wear my glasses, will my vision get worse? By how much? Does it take long?

I'm thinking about getting contacts this summer before school starts again. And I was wondering if it's safe to wear contacts during the organic chem lab while wearing saftey goggles.

Here in the last couple of days, I'm having some increased burning sensation in my eyes. I'm done with the medicated drops, and am using my artificial tears every 3-4 hours. The tears didn't burn when I put them in before the past couple of days. I'm using Refresh Plus single use vials. I stopped taking my Claritin thinking that perhaps it was the antihistamine drying my eyes out. I am having allergies, but at 4 weeks postop, I'm not sure if I can put anything else in my eyes that a doctor would prescribe for ocular allergies. I'm sure this is a result of my allergies, as when I have nasal symptoms, my eyes are involved also.

Any suggestions? Eye care professionals, optometrists, ophthalmologists, opticians only please.

Just saw a program on TLC of a young boy who lost both he's eyes at age 3, he's now a 15-16 years old boy and he can play basketball, ride a bike, skateboard all that using echo location !!!!

By clicking his tongue and listening to the echo, he can "ear" objects around him and can make a mental image of it's surrounding, this is amazing !

You can read more about this on Wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_echolocation

I'm wondering, how long could it take to learn that ?

The surgery results is good and I am making good recovery. However, that eye is an lazy eye. It has astigmatism and also long-sighted. I am wondering if lasik procedure can be performed on it to correct its vision.

My eyes have all 3 colours in them, blue, green and brown, but i recently noticed, that when i am sad, the blue shows out more than any of the other colours, when im happy, the brown shows out more, and when im just feeling like myself, all the colours are clearly visible, and when im jealous they turn green, is this normal? could someone explain why this happens?

Briefly, here is my story. At 5 y/o it was discovered that I was legally blind in my right eye. My nerves in that side were severed when the doctor delivering me used forceps. Not only that but I am slowly but surely going blind in my left eye as well. At puberty, I regained sight in my right eye for a brief time. (Explanation unknown... something to do with the surge of hormones). That didn't last long. I did therapy for years to try to force that eye to work. None of it cured me, but it has prolonged my sight by many years past my original diagnosis. As a child I was told to be prepared to be completely blind by 16 y/o. (I am 29 and still can see well enough to drive, PRAISE GOD!) I have looked into lasik as an option to prolong my sight even more, but was turned down b/c part of my problem is an astigmatism. The lasik therefore would only speed up the blindness process. I was told to look into lense replacement. Any stories? Any experiences with this? Anything help would be so great

in my left eye. It's actually in the corner of my eye. I wear glasses and have astigmatism and I've never experienced this. It's bothering somewhat since it obstructs my vision where that light is because it's just flashing. What could it be? Do I need to check my eyes right away or can it wait to see if it leaves on it's own? This barely started to happen about an hour ago. Has anyone with eye problems experienced this?

My 8 year old son has recently picked up a few habits but the one I have noticed to be the most annoying is blinking excessively.

He just blinks and blinks and often squeezes his eyes shut and I don't see why it is necessary. I asked him why he's doing it (do they hurt? is everything blurry?) etc... but he just blinks at me and shrugs.

He has mild autism, but I doubt this is the cause. Any ideas? Or should I see a doctor?

Ok, I have red eyes. It's not extremely bad but it definetly isn't going away or getting any better. I know i remeber not having this when i was little but i now have it. I tried talking to my eye doctor about it but she just said it might be someting with the environment that is causing me to have allergies! Aka sneezing to a certain thing but I don't think i have allergies. Ugh! someone plz help me if you are a expert in the study of the eye! A cure or a recommened product will get a a best answer =).

I have been on these eye drops for about three years for high eye pressure. One eye in particular has a deep dark circle running under it. It's been there for about a year, but it almost looks like I've had a black eye! Is this discoloration around the eye a result from the drops?
