At the eyeglass store, what is that stuff in the little tray that they swish your glasses around in to make them bend and how does it work? Can I buy some of it? I bend my glasses a lot....

The little tray is called a "salt pan". Guess what I use in the one I have? If an optician is not careful, the glass beads that most use will cause the temple tips to become dimpled like a golf ball, making it uncomfortable to wear.

Salt does not scratch the lenses and heats up evenly.

Please leave your adjustments to qualified opticians.

Nah it's glass beads that the tray heats up. You'd have to buy the whole shebang. If you want to adjust plastic frames at home, i recommend using a hair dryer set to hot to soften the material. We have something like that here in our optical store thats especially for frames. I don't like the beads because they can scratch the lenses.

it usually just hot water to make the plastic frames softer so the bend without breaking.
