while there is advancement of technology in glass free eye correction why do they prefer to wear glasses?

Several reasons.

1. Easier and more convenient to throw on glasses, rather than having to stick contacts in your eyes all the time and worry about keeping them clean or keeping stuff out of your eyes.

2. Surgery is expensive, and occasionally has bad side effects.

3. Glasses are stylish, and come in a variety of types.

4. Glasses protect your eyes, in addition to correcting your sight. Don't really hear about people getting infections from their glasses like some people occasionally do with contacts.

5. Often glasses are cheaper and easier to maintain, although there are certainly exceptions to this rule.

All that said, I think the first reason I give is the biggest one. I've had both, and I'd prefer just throwing my glasses on in the morning any day over the inconvenience of contacts.

Hey, buddy, if you'd like to loan me the couple thousand dollars I'd need to get my eyes fixed, be my guest.

Some people look nice in glasses. Glasses make people look smart. Glasses are fairly convenient. Not everyone can get laser surgery, and many times they still need reading glasses or will need glasses again in the future, as people's eyes change. Contacts are a nice substitute if you don't want to wear glasses.

I've worn glasses for years, I switched once to soft lenses and got tired with them ripping and tearing and hard lenses killed me everytime a mote of dust got into my eyes.
I am not crazy about the thought of surgery to my eyes, after all a bad infection or a misstep on the part of the doctor, and blind lasts a long time.
I prefer glasses due to ease of care, lack of negatives like infection and irritation, not to mention they make a style statement. Glasses also serve as barrier against spills, sprays and wind. Not that they should be used for that purpose, but they are there just in case.

Not everyone can afford laser eye surgery. Furthermore, some people find contacts to be uncomfortable and don't seem to be able to get used to the sensation of having the contact lenses on the eye. Not to mention the added benefits of being able to wear or remove eyeglasses at will.

I wear glasses, not because I can't wear contacts, but because they're easier to keep up with.

You don't have to worry about losing a contact and can't find it, your glasses are easy to see if you drop them. All you have to do is slide glasses on, whereas contacts you have to stick in just right or they won't work. Keeping the contacts moist is harder than just keeping your glasses clean. Plus, you never have to worry about running out of glasses like you would with contacts.

I have too many things wrong with my eyes for contacts to correct. Besides I look better in glasses. They cover up a lot of blemishes.

I personally have 20/20 vision, but if my eyes go bad, I think I'll get some stylish glasses. I can't stand the though of something touching my eyeball!!!

First of all, not all of us have extra cash lying around. Second, laser surgery hasn't been around that long. They don't really know for sure that there won't be long term damage to the eyes. There probably won't be, but I'm not taking chances with my eyes.

Because they don't want the hassle of laser eye surgery. They don't know anyone who had the surgery performed with great sucess and it does costs a lot of money.

For some people it is because they do not qualify for laser eye surgery. Some it is because they are afraid to have it done. And some may qualify to have it done but cannot afford the surgery......depending, it can be very expensive.
