I am very near-sighted and when looking through my current glasses, it's not always clear. It seems I have to look exactly through the middle of the lenses and have them up to my face. My frames are pretty small, but is this normal? I'd like to be able to see clearly through more of the lens. BTW, yes the prescription is correct.

Are there differences in where I get them made, the quality of the lens, the frame size, or what?

I just got the Lord Of The Rings complete collection recently. However all the three books are joined together to form one single book so the words are kinda small. I really want to start reading it but I'm afraid the small words will hurt my eyesight.

My prescription is 4.5 in my right eye, 5 in my left, and Im long sighted. But when I have my glasses/contacts off my vision doesn't change, even if I don't have them on for a few days. All that happens is that I get a squint.
I'm not sure if that's enough info to tell, but is this a different type of bad eyesight or what, and can it be fixed with laser surgery or anything?

I'm just wondering since my eyes are 20/350 and 20/375. I know that is awful because it feels awful. Also does Lasik eye surgery make your vision 20/20?

Has anyone ever heard of or know where to purchase a policy for my child's glasses? He has scratched them twice and broken them once and now they are lost. I've heard of such a policy, but can't find any info on it. Thanks!

My left eye sees better than my right eye. so I usually cover my left eye with some head bands, or just close my left eye, especially when i watch T.V or on the computer, like right now. So lets say if I sit too close to the screen, will this affect my right eye only or both eyes?

I went in for my yearly eye exam and they dialated my eyes. I have had many yearly exams and they have never done that before. It was not a fun experience and I just dont get why they did it.

I have a fairly high degree of near-sightedness and also have been seeing somewhat of a spot of light when I look over too quickly, and also some floaters. Would an Ophthalmologist do a better job in finding anything (if there is anything)? Would they do a more accurate job with my prescription, too?

Also, are they more expensive to go to? (no insurance)

does wearing a prescription lower help improve eye sight?
i.e. I read somewhere that a person who was -6 wore a -5 contact, then a -4.5 to help improve vision. They stated that it helped because it made their eyes work and didn't allow the contacts do all the work for them. Couldn't that cause your eyes to strain, or is that something that could help? Anyone know?

looking at my old photos I notice that images of my yougest neice display a lot of "red eye". However her older sister does not.
Do you think that some people have retinas that are more reflective of camera flash than others?.

I have bad eye strain every time I look at my monitor - a SamSung SyncMAster 912N
I also have 2 Apple Laptop computers that I use occasionally, and in general I don't have trouble when I use the laptops.

I've done about everything I can think of. I went to the eye doctor - they checked me over good, they gave me eye drops and all, I tried new glasses, I tried special computer glasses, actually the monitor is new and I still have tons of trouble, maybe I bought the wrong one. I;ve played with the brightness and the refresh rates, and all that. I've done about everything. I could get a new monitor but I don't know which one I should buy. I bought a anti-radiation - anti glare screen and my eyes still hurt horribly just after short use.

what can I do?

i have a scratch on my eye. it doesn't hurt, but it feels like i have an eyelash or something in my eye that i can NOT get out! i've flushed it with water and everything, so i'm assuming it's a scratch (i can see it). i've also noticed over the last week or so my vision in the same eye has decreased dramatically. i couldn't feel a scratch when my vision started to go bad in the one eye, but i'm curious if they could be related? will the scratch heal by itself? should i go to the opt?

I have lost two contacts in my eyes. I felt them hurt once but bc i was taking a test at school i didn't want to make a big deal so i just blinked my eyes until it stopped hurting. i then noticed i couldn't see so i went to the bathroom and i looked every where in my eye for my contact. i know it didn't fall off. so what happens is is dangerous? i lost my contact a month ago but i haven't had any problems, but i just want to be sure.
