My prescription is 4.5 in my right eye, 5 in my left, and Im long sighted. But when I have my glasses/contacts off my vision doesn't change, even if I don't have them on for a few days. All that happens is that I get a squint.
I'm not sure if that's enough info to tell, but is this a different type of bad eyesight or what, and can it be fixed with laser surgery or anything?

Besides laser eye surgery, you can improve your vision through an alternative treatment. It's called natural vision correction. Take a look here:

Healthy diet is also very important to restore and maintain clear vision. Take a look here:

I assume you are British and by "squint" you mean an eye turn.

When you are long sighted or hyperopic, your eyes do not have enough power to see clearly. You can increase your eye power by using accommodation -- this changes the shape of the lens inside your eye. Accommodation is how the eye changes power to read, but you need to use it to see clearly at far and then use even more to read.

When eyes accommodate they also turn inwards. When you take your glasses off your eyes will accommodate and vision will be clear but the excess accommodation will make your eyes turn inwards and that is why you notice the squint. Prolonged excess accommodation can also cause headaches and discomfort and you may also notice blurred vision at near if you try to read for a long time.

Laser surgery can be used instead of glasses but it does not work as well for long sighted correction as it does for near sighted. Contact lenses are another good option.
