i have a scratch on my eye. it doesn't hurt, but it feels like i have an eyelash or something in my eye that i can NOT get out! i've flushed it with water and everything, so i'm assuming it's a scratch (i can see it). i've also noticed over the last week or so my vision in the same eye has decreased dramatically. i couldn't feel a scratch when my vision started to go bad in the one eye, but i'm curious if they could be related? will the scratch heal by itself? should i go to the opt?

If you did not know that you actually scrated your eye, then it is likely that isn't the problem. Also, superficial scratches heal within 24 to 48 hours, and are extrememly painful. I am really concerned that your vision is greatly reduced, and you should be seen asap, like tomarrow, if not today. You may have an ulcer, or internal inflamation, or something else and could be sight threatening. If you are sensitive to light , more than usual, get to a doctor tomarrow!!! It may mean your sight.

Yes, go see an opthalmologist. An eye surgeon. They will want to give you some antibiotic drops for your eyes so they don't get infected. An infected eye is a big deal.

My daughter scratched her cornea a few months ago.
