I'm having some chest and neck pain and just got checked out by my doc who found no cardiac or respiratory problems and ruled out stress/anxiety so he strongly feels it's muscular/skeletal. I'm also having headaches that start in my neck. He recommended seeing a chiropractor but I have no idea how to start looking. What criteria do I use in choosing one? What are good questions to ask? Thanks!!

I am so curious about it, and I am also kind of scared because I have heard people say that it hurts. I could use some information or anything from people who have had or given physical therapy if you are a doctor. Thanks. :)

I have a bone on my mid to lower back that I cant seem to pop, but need to badly because it needs it. I used to be able to do this all the time when I was at school but now I cant, hense- no desk to do it in. Is there a way for me to move and actually pop this bone to relieve the pain slightly in my back and it not cause a severe injury?

I have had pain on my right side near my ribs for almost two months now. At times it is like a subtle noticeable pain and others it is stabbing and travels into my shoulder and front to back. It seems worse at nights and after eating. At times it is unbearable but mostly I am able to function on the vicodin which the doctors give me. I have had urine and blood tests, a ct scan and an ultrasound but everything has come up negative. Initially it was thought maybe kidney then gallbladder but no tests show anything.
I am extremely frustrated and have no idea what to do anymore. I am tired of going to the dr.'s office becuase I feel like I am wasting their time and mine, but I dont want to make the mistake of letting soemthing go too far. Should I just keep waiting for it to go away?

I have been to chiropractors before and they fix it by popping my back (spinal re-alignement as they call it). If you know of chiropractic techniques to adjust the area between the shoulder blades, please let me know. I would be thankful to you.

I have a Bunion. I am going to see a podiatrist but have been told that if surgery is needed they will only remove it and not break the bone, which is needed to correct the foot problem. Is this true?

I have had two spinal epidurals. The pain was from a fall on my back and I had to do something after four months of useless "therapy" I am normally a very athletic person, strong and of normal weight, a professional dancer most of my adult life.
My question is this: I do not like chemicals in my body. What are the immediate and lasting effedcts of the steroids themselves?

The pains started last night and come and go, sometimes they are so severe that i double over in pain and have to lay there until they subside. I have never been in this much pain before and am not sure whether it is worth it to go to the hospital or not?

I have a chronic disease with my bladder and I have been prescribed hydrocodone 10/325 for over a year. Thankfully I had a procedure done to alleviate most of the pain that I have been experiencing [ the pain probably will return in 3-6 months--I will have to have the procedure done again ]. The problem is I have become highly addicted to the pain medicine and I did not take it as prescribed. The doctor doesn't know that I have been abusing it and now I cannot get any refills. If truth be told, I really don't want to take this medication anymore, however, I am scared to death to go through the withdrawl. I have gone through withdrawl a couple of times but I always managed to get some meds so it would stop. It is excrutiating and I know that in order to kick this habit I need to do this. My question is, is there any way to get through this with as much comfort as possible? Please don't give me a hard time about this as I already hate myself because of this addiction.

I had surgery on the 16th of March, female stuff but included a partial hysterectomy. I have been taking Percocet 5 mg 2 pills every 4 since surgery. I want to stop taking it but when I go to long I feel fluish and kinda weird. Can I take Motrin for those symptoms until they go away??? Or tylenol? I know it has only been a week on the Percocet but I just do not want to get addicted to that type of med.

I believe my migraines are weather related. I get a nasty one every time a storm rolls in. I've tried sinus medicines, excedrin migraine, advil with coffee, a humidifier, nothing works. My head hurts so bad and I get so nauseaus I throw up. I was wondering if prescription migraine meds have any effect on weather related migraines, and what side effects they have? Can someone on birth control take them? Thanks.

i am 30 years old, i had a spinal fusion & instrumentation in 1999, ( for scoliosis, had to have 2 metal rods put into my back) in 2001 i was dianosed with having m.e/c.f.s, for which i have had lots of support, but for the last 3 months i have had the most terrible neck pain, ( was prescribed co codamol & seractil for) along with numbness in my fingers,it started of like a terrible ache but over last few days i keep getting shooting pain when i move my head in a certain way. i have physiotherapy with a specialised c.f.s. physio once a week along with acupuncture. i also have pain in my shoulder, inside elbows, lower back, my G.P has referred me to a rheumatologist. some nights i have to sleep with a neck collar on for support. does anyone have any recommendations on pain relief which doesnt involve medication?
many thanks.
