at about 2:45 in the morning today i suddenly woke up with extreme pain in the muscle in the back of my lower leg. the calf...or is it calve? i don`t care. its happened to me last week in the same leg, an da really long time ago, liek a year, in both of my legs. this one was worse then the one last week because it woke up my little sister because i was like crying and screaming in pain. also i tried to walk during the night when it was hurting, but my leg wouldn`t budge from the position it was in, i barely had any movement in my leg and couldn`t really feel my foot, today i am walking with a limp, on my left leg, thats where it hurt. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try to help me. it ALWAYS happens in the late night/very early morning.

thank you SO MUCH!!

ps: i am a 14 yr old female, if you were wondering.

I had a catherter during my long labour due to the epidural and ever since, i get a really bad pain AFTER i stop peeing. Been on 4 courses of antibiotics after docs thought it was a urine infection. Tests came back saying negative to any infection, but says there was blood in my urine. Have follow up appointment next week. Anyone had the same so i can be prepared? Any other mothers experienced this after a cathereter?

I am reading the, "Pain Free In 6 Weeks", by Sherry Rogers and am trying the nightshades diet. You have to eliminated all hydrogenated oils and all tomato and potato products, along with peppers, cayenne pepper, and paprika. I've been on it for one week for my chronic achilles tendonitis, among other things, and so far no luck. I just reinjured my ankles, possibly sprained them, two days ago. So, I am very frustrated and really wanting to talk to anyone who knows anything about this diet. If anyone is on this diet or knows about it, please email me.

its been about 5 days -I havent done anything to strain them but I keep getting throbbing pains on the muscles in the joints of my leg- top of calf -bottom of thigh and in my hips. The pain feels alot like dehydration aches-also feels like I have a rubber band cutting off circulation. I've had the restless leg problem but not for awhile now and it never hurt...any ideas?

I have Tylenol that's like expired 2001... but I desperately need some... Wonder if it's better to buy some or just take the ones laying around in the house... but I don't want to if there's a major health risk like some danger of old pain killers.

What are the molecules that consitute pain?

I'm just curious since there are medicines that claim to alleviate different kinds of pain in different parts of the body. Take 'Aleve,' for example.

I have been suffering from Migraine Headaches now for over 5 years...I am taking medicine daily to help control them. I have now over the past year started Botox. I have had a MRI, and I see my Doctor (A Neurology Doctor) on a regular basics.. Well I applied for Social Security Disability Benefits, and didn't know if anyone else has ever applied for this before for Migraines? If so, how did it go? Did you get it the first time? Did they deny it? Did you appeal it? If you were approved, what State are you in? What did it take to get approved? I am 30...and really scared....I go to the E.R at least once a month or once every 2 months for a shot.... Any help would be great!! Thanks

I went to the doctor today in order to get immunized for a trip to India next month. Out of the 6 shots that I've received over the past 2 weeks, none of them caused more than mild soreness.

Today, however, I got a Tetanus booster. The shot itself wasn't painful (none of them really are), but as the day has gone on, my right arm feels like it got run over by a truck! Why do Tetanus shots hurt more than other shots?

I'm almost three weeks out of open inguinal hernia repair surgery. For the first several days my hip would hurt when I would laugh or try to get up. It would subside as I walked around so I attributed it to our couch being worn out.

The pain subsided until a few days ago when I had a sharp pain in my hip while on the commode (embarrassing, I know). Now it hurts when I've been seated on a hard chair for awhile and sometimes if I laugh hard enough it will hurt too. If I get up and walk around it goes away.

Any ideas what it might be? Could it just be that as I've gotten back to moving around from surgery that I'm just walking "wrong" and it's causing the hip pain?

Other than that the healing process is going splendidly. I imagine this will ease up in a few days, just curious in case it doesn't.

About a year ago,i started experiencing pain in my right elbow.i have worked out for years,so I thought it may have been a strain,or even "tennis elbow" or something along those lines.I stopped lifting for awhile, but after a month or two,the pain appeared in my left elbow as well.About 6 months ago,the pain spread to my shoulders and chest/collarbone area.Any kind of pushing motion brings excruciating pain in the chest/shoulder area.My elbows don't hurt to bend,or to lift things, but when extended,or when carrying things they ache bad.about a week ago the back of my right hand went numb, and hasn't gotten better.I wake up several times a night and whatever side I'm on is asleep or in pain. I'm tired ALL the time,no matter how much rest I get.I have seen my physician, she ran a full blood test and after nothing was found, referred me to a rhuematiod arthritis specialist, whom I will see in a week-but all the research I've done doesn't seem to match the symptoms of arthritis.Any ideas?

On my lower right eye, where the lashes are, I have had these small twitches/ spasms on and off for over a month now. I first thought it was caused by stress, but it hasn't gone away. Is there a nerve problem? What is going on? Is there something I can take to make my eye relax?

So I'm a nanny (aka carrying a lot of kids) and recently I had some pretty bad lower back pain however no immediate trauma that may have caused this. This dull ache has been going on for at least a month probably more. I decided to see a chirpractor. He was such a nice guy, took time to go over what was bothering me and did some diagnosis. He performed a spinal analysis machine and discovered my right side carries 12 pounds more than my left which made total sense to me. Also using another handheld machine and handheld diagnosis that my neck had a lot of tension and that could be pinching my nerve and causing my headaches. The cost was only $35 dollars and I have another appoitment to go over costs, plan of action, etc. However, when I called my mom she was like oh that's bull***t he just wants money, they're quacks and doesn't want to file to insurance. I believe in this however I'm in college, not financially set. Are they really quacks, can I even afford this, is it worth it
