On my lower right eye, where the lashes are, I have had these small twitches/ spasms on and off for over a month now. I first thought it was caused by stress, but it hasn't gone away. Is there a nerve problem? What is going on? Is there something I can take to make my eye relax?

I wear contacts.
Does this make a difference?
And, what is the name of the artifical tear drop? Can I use them if I wear contats?

I am an ophthalmic asst. Seeing that his has gone on for this long,I suggest you have an ophthalmic work up. I have seen this many times. These spasam or "ticks" are not normal. Usually they are muscle related and benign. However, there is that 1 in 10 chance that there is a tumor or neurological condition occuring.

I got this for a while, and my doc prescribed me an "artificial tear" drop stuff, well now I have since found it over the counter at the drug store.
Apparently it can occur, at least for me, when my eyes get really strained like working on the computer forever or something like that.
I also found, that taking a really cold facecloth, folded up & then laying down for about 5-10 minutes with that on my closed eyes, worked when i ran out of drops.

Good it's not going to kill you or purpose you to be carted off to the funny farm. There is a nerve in spasm and it wishes to be quietened down. The main issue is, in the event you go and spot your healthcare professional, it will discontinue twitching whilst you get there. A long-established main issue amongst computer users is neck stress induced via dangerous posture. (We're not designed to try this). That may cause issues together with migraines, tics and neuralgia. Try an icepack on the back of your neck. If that stops the tic, go and see a chiropractor.

Eye lid spasms, regularly observed as a tic, and are brought about with the help of a spirit - in spite of if this clarification isn't known with the help of technology. attempt slowly passing an open hand close to the effected eye and you will possibly desire to sense a average tingling sensation that would be the causative spirit. that's attempting to get your interest.

I've recently had the same thing for a few weeks. I did some reading and it's usually due to stress or fatigue. It should go away on it's own soon. Overuse of computers doesn't help it either. What are we doing here?

I had the same thing (LOL). I went to the doctor and he said that there isn't a problem unless both eyes do it. I know, it is bothersome. If it continues BOTOX injections will relax the muscle. Mine still do it from time to time. I hoped that I have eased your mind. I know exactly how you feel.
