I took one vicadin about an hour ago and my teeth still hurt! They hurt a little less than before but the pain is still going to keep me up. Why isn't the vicadin working? And what can I do for my toothaches?

Seriously, if doctors give you medication that takes away ALL of the pain, you will stop breathing. Nothing will take away all of the pain, it will make it more bearable. It does take a few doses to build up in your system. Take 2 every 4-6 hours.

Some pain meds only work once you have a certain amount in your system so take it how is prescribed maybe break 1 in half & take it now but be careful not to take too many then you pass out or OD!!! If you have taken it before you may have a higher tolerance so 2 at 1 dose might be what you need.

Anbasol or a topical will give you immediate relief & you can use as much as you want of it! If you are having dental work done just know that you are on your way to relief & this is all temporary so you aren't syking your self out! If you are suffering from sensativity you should get a proper tooth paste.

Aleeve has help me with a cavity pain for a few days until I got into the see the doc to get it drilled out! Always consult your pharmacist or advise nurse & if they can't help, try your doc again. You may need something different.

Vicadin just affects the areas of your brain that tell you that you hurt. It affects every person in different ways, so you just may have a bit of a tolerance. You can either call your dr to see if you can up your dose, or you can try non-medication ways of alliveating the pain. I know it sounds a bit strange, but there's a pressure point in your hand that sometimes will help with toothaches. With your index finger and thumb, press as hard as you can about an inch below the spot between the thumb and index of the other hand. Hold it for at least 90 seconds, yes it will hurt a little, but sometimes that pressure point will take away pain in your head, such as headaches and toothaches.

Notice the claims used to address your question are either question begging or also in need of evidence. The free will claim is not reconcilable with the existence of an omniscient creator. If God makes me knowing what I'll do, he's responsible. The claim that we "would not learn" must answer why we should need to learn in the first place. Why not simply create us with the knowledge we need? Every argument for theism ends up being fallacious, and often a category mistake as well.

NO. It's supposed to make you not care about the pain. Big difference. Vicodin should feel like an upsy-downsy wave you just ride on; it's kinda cool when it works right. If you still care about the pain, pop 1 more.

I have lived with chronic pain for over 5 years now and am on some very strong pain medication. I haven't found anything that completely takes the pain away but it does help to make it bearable.

you can 1. double the dose or 2. call your doctor and tell your doctor it isn't working and you'd like to try something else. some drugs just don't react the same in all people.

No. It is Vicodin. Take another one. Just one. You can take 2 every 4-6 hours and not be in danger of overdosing.

That is a standard dose.

awwww:( I am also taking vicodin....along with my penicillin. I have strep throat:( I took mine and it didn't take away the pain either....so I also took 3 Tylenol and now I seem fine. My dosage says to only take one 500 mg every 4-6 hours......good luck:)
