Probably a kidney infection or kidney stones. Get to a doctor for antibiotics for the infection. You'll need medication or maybe lithotripsy (ultra sound) to break up the stones.

I don't know about the tailbone... unless you fell on it at some time... but the kidney pain could be a stone. I have one now.
They did a CAT scan to tell me what the pain was. In that area, they say, it could be many different things.
From my consultation with the urologist, I found out that stones IN the kidney do not cause pain (they are a problem for other reasons, however). The pain happens when the stones pass out of the kidney into the ureter (right or left). The ureter is a very narrow tube that leads from the kidney to the bladder, and they sometimes get stuck in there, causing pain until they pass into the bladder, through the urethra, and out of the body.... which can also cause pain that I have yet to experience.

There are many reasons for severe pain in the kidneys, first of all are you healthy? This pain can be caused from kidney infection, or much more serious problems. First of all could you be dehydrated? Drinking enough water, or drinking a lot of water will take care of this problem if it is simply dehydration, but if after rehydration you still have the pain, you really need to check with a Doctor, or call a Nurse help line for advise, this can be serious, and if you don't take care of yourself, then who will?

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
