I have been suffering from Migraine Headaches now for over 5 years...I am taking medicine daily to help control them. I have now over the past year started Botox. I have had a MRI, and I see my Doctor (A Neurology Doctor) on a regular basics.. Well I applied for Social Security Disability Benefits, and didn't know if anyone else has ever applied for this before for Migraines? If so, how did it go? Did you get it the first time? Did they deny it? Did you appeal it? If you were approved, what State are you in? What did it take to get approved? I am 30...and really scared....I go to the E.R at least once a month or once every 2 months for a shot.... Any help would be great!! Thanks

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

Do the following exercise if you believe me.
Stretch out your left hand and you will notice your index finger and the thumb form a L shape, One inch away from the center of the curve edge and on the back of your hand is the "He Gu Zue", an important acupuncture point along the merdian that lead from your finger to your head. Press your tip of your right thumb onto this point and hold for 2 seconds then release and repeat the process for 5 minutes. Then repeat the entire process using the "He Gu Zue" on your right hand. Practise the exercise as often as poosible and especially when the headache comes in. Since your migraine has lasted over 5 years you will have to be totally relaxed while doing the above exercise.

I get cluster migraines. I start to get them by losing vision, my left eye goes blind and the pain is excruciating. I have particular medication to take that knocks me out. I'm generally back on my feet in 6-8 hours, but if I don't take anything I will be screaming for 12 hours. I take Naramig in combination with Codeine Forte. I find that an ice pack will sometimes help, but definitely have to be lying down in a dark room. I'll get a series of these over a period of six weeks, then won't get them for a few months. You should really see your GP about getting some stronger medication, because Tylenol never cuts it with me..

Try reducing stressors in your life....you could even try meditation. Maybe you should try a different brand of migraine medicine, Excedrin Migraine works for me. I don't know anything about the Social Security Disability Benefits, you should probably ask them where you applied. I'm sure they could help you out. Good luck, I know how bad they suck!

Very good chance it is diet related. I live very healthy but when I eat something that doesn't agree with me (for example soy products) I get a headache.
