I am reading the, "Pain Free In 6 Weeks", by Sherry Rogers and am trying the nightshades diet. You have to eliminated all hydrogenated oils and all tomato and potato products, along with peppers, cayenne pepper, and paprika. I've been on it for one week for my chronic achilles tendonitis, among other things, and so far no luck. I just reinjured my ankles, possibly sprained them, two days ago. So, I am very frustrated and really wanting to talk to anyone who knows anything about this diet. If anyone is on this diet or knows about it, please email me.

Just to clarify, you have to eliminate all peppers from your diet, including some spices, cayenne pepper and paprika must be eliminated along with anything that lists the word, "spice", because it actually stands for up to 30 differernt things and they aren't all spices.

Keep with it and you will be impressed with the results!

I've done this while under the care of my nautropathic doctor.
It really helped.
There is no danger since you are simply eliminating certain vegetables from your diet.
It's not easy since nightshade vegs are so prevelant in western cooking. Be sure not to slip up.
Also.. try eating pineapple. It helps with joint pain.
Also.. try reading "Eat Right for your Blood Type"

Yes, I've heard of cutting out nightshades, primarily as something to try and help relieve the pain of arthritis. I'm also familiar with Dr. Sherry Rogers and a friend of mine tried to convince me that I should read her books but I did a bit of research on her and I didn't like what I saw.

Also, I discovered that nightshades don't bother me.

The issue of nightshades making people's problems such as arthritis worse is very controversial.

I would not recommend doing this either.

I would recommend talking to your dr about this to see what their thoughts are as well.

Some of the foods you are eliminating, have essential vitamins and other nutrients you need, so you need to make sure you are still getting them from other foods
