my girl is only 10 months old and recently her back legs started to drag, we took her to the vets and they have xrayed and said i need to see a specalist in dysplacia. it is obviouse what she has got after viewing xrays .we have been told her hips are very bad for such a young dog. they advise the best route is for a total hip replacement. can anyone trully recomend a good qualified surgeon. am so worried about our girl would really aprechiate helpfull replies.

I use a vets called Downes & Partners in leigh on sea essex there fantastic.The vets has many partners and other vets belonging to it too over Essex.Good Luck with your German Shepard Hope shes ok.

My father in law had a German shepherd with hip dispasia and his local vet helped a lot.Putting the dog on herbal tablets made a lot of improvement . Can't remember what they were called now.The vet in question was Willeys in Upminster. Hall lane I think.The dog had another good two three years life before it got too bad. He even made the dog a wheeled board to put her back legs on so she could Oh! it has just come to me FEVERFEW was the tablets and they worked.

I'm very surprised your own vet couldn't recommend anyone. Did you ask him/her?
