Yes they do. I failed a drug test by my employer because of my routine use of these types of meds. Like others have said, if you are prescribed these meds, you won't have any problems. The lab that did the testing called my pharmacy to confirm that a legitimate prescription did exist and all was well.

Addition: I found this after doing a quick search online:

I would like to have a list of all major narcotics, and how long they stay in your system.

Answer:
In the legal context narcotics refers to opium, opium derivitives, and their semi-synthtic substitutes. Cocaine and coca leaves are also classified as narcotics. They are narcotics. Depending on how long you have been taking them prior to a test. How large a dose and frequency also must be factored in. If you are worried, prior to the test mention this. Also have the bottles with you to show you have a legal prescription. And if it is really important, you can give them the number of the Dr who prescribed them to you. If you take the drugs several times a day, they will show up right away.

Those two are opiates, so yes, they will show up.

If they test for the drug itself, a few days should be ok. If they test for metabolites (breakdown products) it could be much longer.

Best thing to do - tell the tester before the test. They'll find out anyway. If they are prescribed for you, it shouldn't be a problem.

And you wouldn't take anything that wasn't prescribed, right?

Yes, they do.
It depends how many pills were taken, and when you took them in relation to the blood test.
If you have a prescription for the medicine, show it to the lab or doctor or nurse taking your blood. I assume you DO have a prescription, correct? If you don't, and are taking someone else's meds, uh, oh, you're in trouble. Or if they are pills obtained in an illegal manner, UH OH, you are in REAL BIG trouble. Be smart. Good luck!

I think so. When I had a drug test for my job I had to fill out a form that asked if I took any medication... I assumed that was because they would show up, and they'd want to know that it was prescribed and not recreational use.

It depends what they are testing for, but most likely if it is a standard drug test absolutley they check. It is fine if it is in your system assuming you have a prescription for it.

They can yes, and on average it takes most mediceines 30 days to leave your system. Some only last a few, but those I believe are 30.
