Is there anything I can do to prevent knee pain after running?

I was fine this morning till I went to pick up a bag and as soon as I lifted it I felt this extremley sharp pain in the middle of my back. Now I can barley move. I bent over a little a minute ago and I was almost not able to get back up. Biggest problem is I work nights and I'm stuck at work right now b/c this all happened right as I was about to get off. Luckily I work at a hotel and am able to lie down. I have to get home soon though to take my wife to work. What do I do to make it stop? Please help!

My 35 year old sister was badly beaten up by a boyfriend last Thursday. She's now left him and is staying with me. She managed to eat a small sandwich on Friday and Saturday, but since then she hasn't kept anything down and keeps vomiting. She got checked at the local hospital yesterday and they said it may calm down after a few days. However, she can't even keep down small amounts of water. Does anybody have any suggestions on what is causing it. At the hospital they seemed to think it is psychological (nerves), but she feels relaxed and safe at my house and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. I'm really worried that she will dehydrate.

I just had a discogram done yesterday, which was not fun... They said that disk decompression could help, I am 27yrs old with herniation on L4-5,L5-S1 levels. Is this a less evasive procedure and how sucessful of a treatment is it? Any feedback would be really helpful

I am not sure, but I think I pulled my calf muscle. It hurts really bad when I straighten my foot or walk in general, I thought walking down the steps would help stretch it out, but when I did I felt something snap. The muscle is now so tight and hurts just sitting here. Is there any thing I can do to relax the muscle and get rid of the pain without going to the doctor?

I have a small sore on my ankle that is so slow in healing. I had a similar injury a few years ago and my physician referred me to a physical therapist, but I would be more comfortable with my foot doctor.

For the past year or two, I've been having constant muscle twitching. It just starts to twitch out of nowhere. On my cheek, eye, toe, leg, thighs, everywhere. What could be the reason for this?

Would you choose a highly stressful job, where you would have no time for leisure, hobbies, friends OR a relaxed job, working only four days a week? The stressful job is very well paid, the relaxed job is not as well paid. Which ONE would you choose?

I have had two professions (first hairdresser for many years, now been a computer geek for several years). My hands tingle whenever I am on the computer too long (daily), or when I try to hold a phone for an extended period of time. Will I be a candidate for some type of surgery or what is the usual way they got about getting rid of the tingling.
