If you stand on a dead wasp barefoot, can you still get stung even though its dead?

I'm going to venture out on a limb and say that there's a possibility...but only of the stinger is exposed. The unique thing about wasps (nasty little bastards) is that they sting repeatedly, unlike their cousin the bee...so avoidance is the best way to not get stung.

You will most likely know you've been stung, as you will have some sort of an inflammatory response from you body to combat the venom. Of course, the worst case scenario is anaphylaxis, which is life threatening and readily apparent.

Yeah, it's still a sharp object, even if it's small. But it probably wouldn't inject quite as much venom as when it's alive and it may even dry up soon, can't imagine there's *that* much in there... in a day or so it's probably gone when the wasp isn't alive to refresh the supply.

I haven't looked into this in too much detail though, because I'm not sensitive to bees or wasp venom at all. I stepped on a bee many years ago (before I went habitually barefoot) and get stung by a bee or wasp in other places about once a year (arm, leg, hand, often when gardening), but it's never more than a needle prick for me, it swells but goes down extremely quick and usually half an hour later I can't tell where it happened.... the common mosquito on the other hand gives me nasty bumps that keep itching for days, which isn't a good trade-off since mosquito bites are much more common!

Yes you can.Even though the wasp is dead the stinger is not. I guess you could position your foot just right and not stand on the stinger or if the stinger isn't exposed and you wouldn't get stung. But it does hurt and swell a lot when you do.

Ugh, unfortunately yes. If the stinger is exposed and you stand on it, you will still get the venom.
