Injuries - April 2007

I am 20. I have mild spondylolisthesis in L4 and disc herniation in the same place, disc dessication in thoracic spine, and minor levoscoliosis. My chiropractor tells me it's due to an injury over five years ago but I don't remember anything major happening. All I know is that weightlifting worsened it and triggered the pain. I don't have numbness in any of my limbs but it's hurting me on a daily basis, makes it difficult to stand in one place for a while. Are there any special methods that chiropractors/acupuncturists/osteopaths/etc. can use to treat spondylo and disc dessication? I heard of some chiropractors in ukraine that could use hand manipulation through the stomach to correct this. Anything like this exists in the States? Thanks in advance for any help.

When I yawned this morning, I heard my jaw 'cracked'. Now, it hurts and I can't open my mouth wide like before when I eat. It hurts on the left! Should I go to a docs? Or what?

It has been casted. Is there anything else that can be done to speed recovery? Also the doctor wrapped an ace bandage around the cast. Does anyone know why?

I use to use MSM eyedrops but they do not make that anymore.
The scar happend when I tried on sunglasses and the plastic tag hit my eye and it has never healed. What can I do?

I was carrying my computer to move it to a different table, but it slipped out of my hands and fell on to the top of my foot. I cant really touch it because of the pain, and it is very slightly bruised and swollen. My sister said it is broken and that i should go and see a doctor, but im not sure what to do as i can still walk on it.

I am having terrible pain/numbing sensation in my right hand. The pain wakes me up at night and is constant throughout the day. It doesn't occur always or every day. I dislocated my right elbow (tore ligaments and muscle) 2 yrs ago. My orthopedic doctor said i was healed a year later. My elbow is fine. I wonder if it could be nerve damage, if so why would it happen now and not then. the pain (numbing/tingling sensation) started approx. 6- 8 months ago. nothing seems to help. Again it only lasts for about 3 days at a time then just as quickly as it comes it goes. Any advice as far as measures to aleve the pain.

My forehead and nose have butterfly stitches I have a black eye and I could have damaged the eye and I look as if I have been slapped about. The large board was put up with two 1/2 inch screw's and not done by a proffessional like it should have been done by in the first place.

My right ankle is swollen. There's no pain at all, it's just big. It's not involving my foot at all. I do sit a lot for work, but normally both would swell. I'm wonder if it's gout, but isn't gout painful? P.S. I'm old.

I'm on my school's track team and I've had shin splints for about a month or a month and a half and I've been icing them a lot and putting bengay, so they've been feeling better (does bengay really help???) but now my left ankle hurts more but my right legs better and im still limping when i try running or go down the stairs. should i keep running? my parents want me to go to a doctor if it continues but i dont know if i really need a doctor. i really want to run because ive sat out practice icing for two weeks but i dont want to hurt myself more!

Since last Friday I've been have a kind of queasy feeling in my stomach. On Friday and Saturday, it was all day and since Sunday it's been on and off every once in a while. It seems worse in the morning when I wake up and then it gets better throughout the day. Late afternoon to before I go to bed it seems to be the best.

Sometimes after I eat, and throughout the day, it feels like gas and I burp and that seems to help. However, it seems like it always comes back. I'm wondering if it's because I've been thinking of something a lot, and thinking that it might possibly be stress? It also doesn't feel too bad when I'm not thinking about that certain thing that I mentioned.

Could this be a light case of the stomach flu? I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea what this could be and if you know of anything to do for it. Thanks.

By acedent yesterday I rammed into the doorknob and today it really hurt when I would touch the spot.Today I can see a slight blue spot, but not very visible. It hurts about 3 inches from my wrist up on my radius. When I touch it, it hurts but I feel like there is a small bump. What is it? Will it go away soon?

just an over all wierd dizzy feeling, but even more so when i tilt my head, almost to the point i feel like im gonna fall over. i have not been wearing my glasses as much as usual since the weekend(nose peice broke) I have been drinking plenty of water and i don't drink booze or do drugs. almost seems like i feel a bit better when i take my glasses off. is it possible my glasses are making me feel this way?

I was laid off from my job last month so i no longer have insurance. About a week ago I noticed my left ear started feeling like there was water or something in there cause it was stufted up. I didnt think anything of it and just let it be. Then last thursday i woke up with such a bad painfull pain, all weekend i had to suffer thru it, i was taking lots of pain pills. I have a doctors appointment today at a clinic but i have to pay $70.00 that i really dont have to spare. do i really need to go to the doctor or will it just go away on its own. The pain is pretty much gone but its still cloged up, sometimes i can hear it make kind of like poping sounds.
