So long as it happened within the past 24 hrs, go to the EOR to be on the safe side. If youre able to move your foot at the ankle and wiggle your toes, then there may not be a break....just trauma to the area. But remember this...you only get one set of feet and they have to carry u a lifetime, so always take good care of them. I wouldnt bear any weight on it tho for at least a week. Apply moist heat and take motrin (its an antiinflammatory and the pain is caused by inflammation). Find a good movie or book and put your feet up!

Sounds like a bad bruise. Best bet is some Asprin to help the pain and the sweeling and alternate hot and cold compresses whenever you get a chance. Ie a bag of frozen peas for 2 mins (not in direct contact with your skin though) then something like a hot water bottle for two mins. This greatly increases the blood flow to the area and helps diverge the sweeling and any bruising that might form....by the way... if your foot was broken...you would know about it!

Sore or broken? I have had a broken toe and I was able to walk on that too! If your foot is swollen, has a stinging sensation, than I would get to the doctor. The longer you wait, the harder it will be for the doctor to actually help you.

Most of the bones in your feet are quite delicate & small. If it is extremely painful, you probably should go for an x ray. If you do have broken bones , a restrictive bandage; lots of rest; elevation of your foot & applied ice is about all you can do. Stay off your feet. If you choose not to go for an x ray..... Same rules apply.

So many answers here, and so many suggestions, all good, however, if you dont know by now, you probably broke one of the metatarsal bones on the top of your foot, yes you can still walk, but the pain wont go away til you know exactly what is wrong with it..Get it checked out

For you foot: ice it, elevate it, stay off of it for a day or so, and take your favorite pain-killer, if necessary, and as instructed. If no improvement after a few days, get an X-ray.
For your PC: reboot. If you can access all your data and apps, great; if not, contact a trustworthy and competent PC tech.
Get well soon, and be careful!!

You really need to see a doctor and get a thorough examination. This could be serious. In the meantime you can apply ice pack for fifteen minutes at a time.

Might want to get that x-rayed just in case. My sister stepped in a pothole when it was dark out and her ankle hurt the next day. Even though she could walk on it, she went to the doctor and found out it was broke.
