Don't sleep with contacts. If the contact is more than 3 weeks old, throw it away. If not, check the contact for tears/breaks. If it has a tear, replace it... if not try and clean it with solution. If that doesn't work, try washing your eye with water in case you have an eyelash or some dirt in your eye, and then place some Visine eye drops in your eye. If that STILL doesn't work, see your doctor, maybe you have a eye infection, or you are not wearing a suitable brand of contact lense. Hope that helps

So this happens to me all the time, especially when I don't get enough sleep. I saw the doctor about it and he said it's fairly common. I can't remember the medical name for it but what he told me was to use visine or something over the conter for soothing eyes if I can live w/ it or I would need a steriod shot to make it go away for a period of time. What it looks like is red veins in the corner of the eye and it can sting. I just use an eye wash and I'm fine.

Maybe a cornea ulcer. I just saw somebody at the hospital this week with that. The diagnosis was related to the over use of contacts. She was put on 2 types of eye drop antibiotics. Go see your eye doctor so you can get that checked out.
The patient's eye was red, swollen, excessive tearing and she was in a lot of pain

Wash your hands. Use your contact lens solution and remove both contacts immediately and wear glasses. Report this to your optometrist right away. Your OD may wish to see you, question you about how you care for your contacts and examine your eye. If your optometrist feels you may have conjunctivitis, you will be referred to your primary care physician for evaluation. If the optometrist feels you may some other eye disorder, your primary physician will have to see you anyway to make a referral to an ophthalmologist.

Take advice from me; I've been wearing contacts for about 12 years. Try to take your contact out (the one that is hurting) and clean it with some contact solution, then try to put it back in. If it continues to hurt after you clean it, then throw that pair away and put in a new pair.

Remove the contacts as quickly and as carefully as possible, then make arrangements to see your eye doctor as soon as possible.

remove both lens and rest your eyes at least for a day. it's not easy to have blur vision but it's more inconvenient if you wear 'em still or when you wear at least one
and yeah, see a doc to give you eye lubricant.
