I have bad ankles to begin with, and i've had multiple surgeries. The other day i fell on it wrong, but didn't think anything of it until yesterday when i was walking, all of a sudden the pain was so sudden and sharp and bad that i fell and couldn't support myself. It's not really swollen much...I was just wondering what this could be. Do you think it's sprained? What do you look for to see if it's sprained? What to you suggest i do to keep it from hurting so much. Thank you very much.

If I 'jammed' my finger at noon one day and then the next evening it is still blue and swollen and tender, then is it possibly hairline fractured?

this morning in first period i was spinning a rifle and while throwing a quad it hit the floor, then bounced and the barrel end [fat part known as the butt] hit my toe. from then on i havent been able to walk very well on it. when i got home i took my polish off and found out that at where the nail reaches the nail it is a bruised purple blue color.

i showed my mom and she said it looks like its going to fall off [just in time for summer] and she said i should drill a hole in it with the hand drill from my petacure kit. she said it would get rid of alot of pressure in my toe.

so i did it took a while but i did. this is really nasty but i was turning it and all of a sudden i felt a pop like popping a pimple and blood started gushing everywhere! it was so nasty! [it did help alot though]

so im left in a sperry and rainbow and have gaurd practice and a compitition to go to. my dad says to ice it the heat it, but i dont realy know if that would help so what should i do to help it

About 8 months ago I was rear-ended and saw a doctor for neck pain. It still hasn't resolved and I want to go to a specialist, but will the car insurance people have issues with that and not reimburse me? I don't want to end up footing the bill in the end, but I am still in some pain! Is this reasonable?

Last week I bench pressed and the next day when I woke up i was extremely sore. On that day, my brother decided it would be funny to hold me down and punch me in the chest. Every one of his punches hit my left pectoral muscle, (the sore one). Now, two weeks later, i am not sore at all. In fact the soreness left a week after getting hit. But now, I cannot flex my left pectoral muscle. I flex my pecs and my right one comes out and is hard but my left one doesnt even move and is very "squishy", my finger sinks into it. I feel no pain and can move my arm but i cannot flex my left pectoral. I hav also lost a great deal of strenght in my left arm.

Is it possible to get muscle scarring the way i said? Is this muscle scarring? If so how does it heal? And, can scar tissue be exercise?

Please provide as much information as possible and only answer if you know what you are talking about. Do not guess. Please answer if you are qualified.

.... is it normal to have back problems, for example stiffness and easy injuries, to your back after having multiple lumbar punctures?

Are there any long lasting effects?

The last one I had was in 2004 (I think) and I had many (literally 100's) between 2000 and 2004 due to treatment for leaukeamia

I fell while skim-boarding about a week ago and my left palm (mostly the area underneath my thumb) is swollen and hurts when I grip things and is somewhat dis-colored. It is a shade of red with some pale spots throughout the coloring. I used my hand to block my fall and my hand was outstretched, but my wrist doesn't hurt at all. I was wondering what could be wrong with it and how I could possibly make it feel better. I don't have any time to go to the doctor this week so I am looking for a few solutions. thanks.

I recently fell of the boat at work onto the dock, (I am a biologist and I was taking sediment samples) and injured my back. I have to have an MRI performed because my doctor thinks that I herniated a disc or two, and now I am in tremendous pain, and my right leg keeps going numb on me.
My boss is treating me different and does not have work for me now, and I am nervous that I may loose my job. I missed 3 days because of the injury, and I have been doing everything that I can at work, but I am limited.
Can he fire me or lay me off?
Can he just decide that there is not enough work for me and ask me to not come in on certain days?
I have never had this happen and I want to cover all my bases. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

i have three, rather large, cuts on my wrist...it looks like chunks of skin were cut out but only because they're so deep. i know there will definately be scarring, but i want it to heal faster..and how do i make it less noticeable? what can i use to cover it up? the cuts are about two inches long so wearing a watch is kind of pointless...

About 9 year ago got into a horrible snowmobile accident and i broke my leg and injured my back. i went to the doctors and the chiropractor and they both did there majic. between then and now i have been doing plenty labour jobs and just 2 years ago i went to go lift my computer to move it and all of sudded my back went. so i went back to the chiropractor and he fixed it putting me 2 days off of work. just this past summer i had bad luck with it. i was shoveling some fertilizer at my work and it went again, i was put off work for 2 weeks on workers comp. then about 2 months later it went again at work and the chiropractor yet again put me on workers comp for 5 and a half weeks. so while i was off i was talking to a co worker and he says im over weight, i dont think it is that but i could be wrong im 6 feet tall and weigh 210Lbs i do and enjoy heavy labour. does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be and if they have any tips to help it? considering the doc and chiro dont.

My girlfriend is 17 and she was recently involved in a car accident, and injured her neck. The doctor's have her in a soft collar neck brace for now while they wait for the swelling to go down. The doctor says they can treat her injury with either a Aspen Neckbrace or Philadelphia Neckbrace, which one do you think is better or more comfortable for her?

y. I refused to sign it. they then called me and left a message about the write up then took the write up away IN GOOD FAITH. I asked for a copy of the write up they were going to issue me and a statement saying this inccident happend this they would not provide this seems like a sort of retaliation that they desided not to use. Whats your opinions and I think there still doing things to be difficult as well as the company doctor not working with me about pain management , I personnaly would not take a sick animal to this doctors office as they seem very much bought and payed for to assist the company not look out for my general care!

For the past two to three weeks, I have been experiencing pain in my tailbone (specifically, right above the "butt crack" - graphic, but necessary). Could this be a fracture? I have no idea how I would have done it, but I fractured my foot in November and still don't know how I did that. If it is a fracture, is there anything I can do outside of taking Advil? Do I really need to see a doctor for a diagnosis and something for immobilization, or is it more of a "wait it out" game?

Through self diagnosis from wikipedia, i think ive damaged the lateral collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in my knee. Should i go to the doctors or the hospital, or neither? How much walking should i do? What does the popping sound in my knee mean?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated, thanks
