My husband felt like something was rattling around inside his ear/head, so he shook his head like you would as if water was in it, when a blood clot fell out. Could over zealous q-tipping cause a blood clot?

I mean the swollen part of the finger, where the nail bed is. I know the nail itself will take months to grow out. The finger has been x-rayed and is not broken, and the nail was pierced to remove the build up of blood (but it had already dried). The nail bed is still very swollen after 2 weeks, although the pain has gone. Should I return to the doctor, or is it normal for the swelling to last this long?

My son is an active, healthy 13 yr old. Under both his arms close to the tricep area...he has 2 bruises. The problem is they have been there for quite some time & should have healed by now. What would be the medical reason, if any, why bruises don't heal?

I twisted my knee a few years ago but its been fine for ages. I started exercising on an exercise bike and treadmill a few months ago and my knee has started getting really stiff and painful. Is there anything I can do to help this or are there any vitamins for joints I could take, or exercise which wouldn't put strain on my knee?

And my bowls have been open all day, and as I went to go for a run I had to come back in side quickly as when I went to to the toilet I had diarea, and had it again 2 minutes ago too. So does eating All Bran cause this? Any advice will do. I may have to cut back on the All bran becasue I do not want to be at a shopping centre and then run to find the closest toilet. Got any sugestions?

He was injuired 6 years ago. The company refuses to pay for any additional medical treatment for his back stating his condition is not a bad as his doctor says it is. His lawyer withdrew from the case 2 years ago. But due to it being so far in the process no other lawyers will take the case. Now the workers compensation states that this matter can no longer be handled by them. So the company is trying to still present an offer for other injuries that he encounter but no additional treatment for his back. Which he can not work, and the company he worked for fired him, and no other company will hire him due to he can barely walk. One lawyer states to just take the money that has been mailed to my husband but another lawyer states that if he cashed the payment this will terminate his rights and he will be stuck like this or he can take the offer and get his surgery himself. The offer is peanuts to what he is going through. Are there any other options for us at this point?

Yesterday while i was out taking my son's to the doctor we went over this small snowbank(about 2 feet) and as i went over it i kinda fell but because i got snow and ice in my shoes everything seemed normal until i was walking back. My ankle hurt so bad i had to take my shoe off and walk in the snow to numb the pain. Today the pain is much worse, it starts in my ankle and goes right up the front and side of leg. I know it isn't broken cause if it were i would have severe swelling which i don't have not to mention i wouldn't be able to walk which i can but painfully.
Should i go to hospital when i could just be a bad sprain? or should i wait a few days and if it isn't any better then go to the hospital? I've been taking tylenol an anti-inflammatory to help reduce any possible in flammation and pain. Could this be a small fracture?
Thanks In Advance!!

a pencil went into the right buttocks of my 8 year old. About two inches went in. We pulled it out immediately and treated the area. Call the doctor and did as told, said she would be alright. But still worried. Any suggestions or thoughts? Will she be alright? Should I take her to the doctors anyway?

I had a Lap choly and hernia repair. The surgeon nicked my colon 3 times and I got septic and peritonitis. I was wondering if this is considered malpractice. I had cervical cancer and had radiation damage 13 yrs ago and had a hysterectomy. I also had a C-section 12 years ago. According to what I read, Laparoscopic surgery should not have been attempted. Anyone know whether this is a breach of standard of care?

Doctors in the ER took Xrays that night and sent my fiancee home without a collar or anything. 3 days later they call and say "Well, we think you have a broken neck, come in for a collar." Then for the next 2 years he has severe pain shooting through his arms and legs and they act as if he is crazy and actually told him he had everything from "Fibromayalgia" to "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" everything but what was really wrong in the first place. We were jerked around for about 2 years. They actually refused to give him medication for pain when he needed it. Until one day he collapses and seeks treament somewhere else. The new docs said that the whole thing stemmed from his broken neck not healing properly causing him nerve damage and the result of pending surgery for it. He now has a paralyzed hand and pending surgery that he should have had immediately after the accident. I want your opinion. If you are a doctor or attorney please state that in your answer.
