Where you hit, did you have a fall, or just unexplained bruising?

If it is unexplained, just as the first answer stated, you have internal bleeding and go to an emergency room.

If you fell and/or was hit, that explains the bruising but not the shortness of breath.

Shortness of breath can be caused by inability of the lungs to get enough oxygen and of the heart to send out that oxygen through the body. Feeling short of breath can make a person anxious - which in turn can make the problem worse. Relieving that anxiety may help to reduce shortness of breath.

Managing shortness of breath requires help from professionals. This is not a problem that you can cope with at home alone.

Go to the emergency room/urgent care now!

GOOD LUCK!

A bruise anywhere means internal bleeding, and if you can't breathe properly it has to have something to do with your lungs.
If I was you I would be getting proper medical attention ASAP.

Maybe some broken ribs, that tends to make it hard to breathe. I think you need to get to the emergency room immediately.
