hubby who is 62 fell of the roof ,had to have surgery for a fractured pelvis does any one know how long will it take for him to heal? He cant put any weight bearing for 6 weeks after that what can I expect? thanks

He will need that 6 weeks to begin the healing process, but it really depends on his health before the injury. A sedentary individual can take up to a year or longer until they gain full use of the lower body. A healthy individual will take more like 8 months to a year to recover full use. He will probably need an aggressive treatment of physical therapy and occupational therapy after the initial 6 weeks to relearn movements, and decrease the atrophy of his muscles. This will be a very hard time for you both, keep yourselves positive and visualize a speedy recovery. Good luck.

That is terrible. I am so sorry for your husband. I imagine he will end up in extended care while he heals up.
My best friend had a car wreck when she was 30 yrs old and fractured her pelvis and stayed in a nursing home for 6 weeks. She called me crying and said she had enough of her husband and was going to get a divorce. She did too.

He should be mended well in about 8 weeks. Full recovery will take much longer depending on his overall health. Give it 6 months to full recovery.
