Yesterday while i was out taking my son's to the doctor we went over this small snowbank(about 2 feet) and as i went over it i kinda fell but because i got snow and ice in my shoes everything seemed normal until i was walking back. My ankle hurt so bad i had to take my shoe off and walk in the snow to numb the pain. Today the pain is much worse, it starts in my ankle and goes right up the front and side of leg. I know it isn't broken cause if it were i would have severe swelling which i don't have not to mention i wouldn't be able to walk which i can but painfully.
Should i go to hospital when i could just be a bad sprain? or should i wait a few days and if it isn't any better then go to the hospital? I've been taking tylenol an anti-inflammatory to help reduce any possible in flammation and pain. Could this be a small fracture?
Thanks In Advance!!

I would get it checked, because it could be serious. get an xray for the bone, and ask for an MRI for like muscles and tendons. good luck.

If there is a clinic available to you locally - try them. Or, if you have a regular General Physician, go see them. A hairline fracture can act like a sprain. I've had breaks that didn't swell at all - and didn't even start hurting until 4 or 5 days later.

...Some that I just "let go" are causing me a lot of pain when the weather changes these days... take care of yourself now - and you'll be less likely to have difficulty later...

Or for a tried and true saying: "Better safe than sorry."
Peace.

what made you hesitate to go to hospital ?
if you don't know how to cure your pain, why don't you give a doctor a chance to cure you.
a doctor know a lot of things about the pain you are suffering now.
you are risking your leg, if you don't go to hospital right away.

time is ticking, how much time does your ankle can hold the pain?

as an orthapedic surgeon,i would strongly urge you to have a doctor examine it,it could very well be a hairline fracture and could cause serious complications in the future.

If its a sprain youll be wasting a few hundred dollars. If its a small fracture youll be wasting a few thousand dollars. If its serious then itll be worthwhile.

the only sure way to know if you broke a bone is to have it xrayed. assuming you don't have xray vision, get to an urgent care. in the meantime, keep your foot elevated, treat pain with advil/alleve, ice foot, and avoid walking on it.

not all fractures swell it could be a hairline fracture which will only show up on x-ray. You should go get it checked.
