My son is an active, healthy 13 yr old. Under both his arms close to the tricep area...he has 2 bruises. The problem is they have been there for quite some time & should have healed by now. What would be the medical reason, if any, why bruises don't heal?

I don't want to scare you but do not waste time go to the doctor and get blood work done. It can be a sign of anemia, Luekima even signs of some liver problems. That is not normal.

Call his doctor. Especially if he bruises easily. The most important thing is not that the bruise did not go away, but if there are many bruises.
