The pencil contains graphite instead of lead. Lead has not been used in decades. Just keep her comfortable and watch for redness, swelling and other signs of infection. She will be ok.

Before I answer, I just want to say that I am NOT a medical professional, and have had no formal training. I am only speaking from experience (yes, I had a pencil wound when I was a child – I dove onto an air mattress and ended up pulling a colored pencil out of my hand) and what I have learned from my mother who is an LPN.
Anytime you have a penetration wound that is that deep, you should have a professional check it out. Did the doctor ask you if the pencil had any indications that it was a #2 pencil? If it is indeed a #2 pencil, then there shouldn't be issues of toxicity, however if the pencil was quite old, something that had been laying around for 20 or more years, you may want to make sure there wasn't real lead in the lead of the pencil.
If the wound won’t stop bleeding you should take her in for a stitch or two. They may even just put a butterfly band aid on it and call it a day. (A butterfly band aid is a very sticky band aid that works much like a stitch).
There is also the issue of infection, which the doctor should have told you to watch for. If the wound looks to be infected in the upcoming days, then you should take her in.
Lastly, if this wound was caused by someone rather than an accident (such as it laying on the couch and her sitting on it). You should in fact take her to the doctor, and take pictures of the wound. If someone hurt your daughter, you will want proof that the incident happened, and doctor's records are good proof. Depending on the severity of it you may even want to go to the police.
Before I leave you, just remember to be sympathetic. Wounds from blunt instruments hurt - they hurt a lot. A little TLC goes a long way.
Here's hoping that it was an accident, and that she will heal quickly.

As long as the tip didn't break off she will be ok. Pencil lead isn't actually lead, it's graphite, a mineral. Used to be lead. Nothing to worry about. I've been jabbed with pencils twice in my life. It left permanent green marks but never infected. I'm curious how that happened

I would take her anyway, just in case small pieces broke off inside of her. The same thing happened to me years ago. My nephew thought it would be funny to stab me in the butt with a VERY sharpened pencil. Small pieces did break off and had to be removed. OK EVERYONE STOP LAUGHING!!
Seriously, taker her. Better safe than sorry.

Well i had a similar problem but the lead broke in me as long as you are sure that there is no lead in the wound the child will be ok and some good old tlc and some bandages and alcohol should do the trick.
