Through self diagnosis from wikipedia, i think ive damaged the lateral collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in my knee. Should i go to the doctors or the hospital, or neither? How much walking should i do? What does the popping sound in my knee mean?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated, thanks

WOW some crazy answers!!!
you would have a future in orthopedics if you self-diagnosed a posterolateral corner injury with a PCL rupture (what you described). there are much more common injuries about the knee depending on the mechanism of injury.
i would see an orthopedic surgeon sooner rather than later because a posterolateral corner injury should be surgically repaired within 2 to 3 weeks, otherwise reconstruction doesn't have as good of an outcome. i'd be truely amazed and impressed if this is what you have.
bottom line is that if you really think you have any ligamentous injury in your knee you should see an orthopedic surgeon to better assess the situation. in the mean time, rest, elevate, and ice. good luck man

See a doctor. Have a MRI done to confirm the diagnosis. Proceed with treatment.

definately see z doctor in the hospital, keep the leg up with an ice pack on your knee to prevent too much swelling, do not put any weight on it until you get it seen to.
Hope all OK

go see a dr definately. the popping is probably one of your menisci (cartiage inside your knee) moving about. even if you don't need surgery you will need physio. your muscles start wasting very quickly after a knee injury and if you don;t address this the problem will get worse

Consult your surgeon. Do not walk more and strain further.
Apply some external balm for temporary relief.
