I fell while skim-boarding about a week ago and my left palm (mostly the area underneath my thumb) is swollen and hurts when I grip things and is somewhat dis-colored. It is a shade of red with some pale spots throughout the coloring. I used my hand to block my fall and my hand was outstretched, but my wrist doesn't hurt at all. I was wondering what could be wrong with it and how I could possibly make it feel better. I don't have any time to go to the doctor this week so I am looking for a few solutions. thanks.

find time to see a doctor -ER or urgent care. you need an xray and a referral to an orthopedist.
in the meantime, splint your hand, ice it, elevate, and treat the pain and swelling with Advil or Alleve.

Sounds like a carpometacarpal or Bennett's dislocation/fracture. You need to get to an Urgent Care or ER, not having time is not an excuse when it comes to your health.
