Lactic acid builds up in the muscles after prolonged exercise.
What is your definition of a long time?
A good cool down immediately after exercise will help.
Massage, as many professional athletes use, will help blood flow, and therefore help the toxins in the muscles to be flushed out.
If this does not help, contact a Physician.

Choose healthy low carb fruits and vegetables such as mustard greens, turnip greens, collard greens, spinach, asparagus, red bell peppers, orange bell peppers, zuchini, artichokes, avocadoes, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, raspberries, black berries, straw berries, blueberries, jicama, celery, celery root, cauliflower and brocolli. These are just some of the many examples that can help you. Good luck.
