After cooking chiko rolls for my brother in the deep fryer, i lifted the basket out and set it on the hook. In doing so, i missed the hook and the basket splashed back into the hot oil @ 200*Celsius. The hot oil splashed up my left hand in blotches and up my wrist to parts of my forearm also. I also experienced small amounts to my upper chest. The most severe burns are to my arm and hand. I automatically placed my entire arm under cool running water for quite some time before applying an ice-pack wrapped in a tea-towel to the area. I had to apply this for a numerous amount of hours. I haven't been to see the doctor as of yet. I have noticed purple-red colouration to one of the burns. I also know for a fact that the burns i have experienced will infact scar. I was wondering if there were any ways of preventing the scaring to my skin. Your help would be much appreciated. It looks as though someone has taked a paintbrush full of paint and thrown dobs and splotches of paint on my arm.

Today, I went with my mom shopping to a local store. All of a sudden, I got this really sharp pain on top of my cranium. On the right side up. I touched it, and It seemed to be a long puffy lump on my head. Since, that moment. I have had a headache, and up to this hour? I still do! A few minutes ago, this is hard to explain but, On my right ear? Things sound far away. Like half mute? I need help. Should I tell my mom about this? or is this not serious? HELP

Help... My lovely 3-year old hit her head against the edge of a glass table yesterday, and got a nasty cut smack in the middle of her forehead. Anybody have any ideas if I could do something to prevent the formation of an ugly scar? The cut was deep, but did not need stiching.

I was having surgery and while the they were administering the anestesia they messed up my jaw. Now I can only open my mouth half way and it looks like I'm going to have to have surgery to correct it. Do I have a case of medical malpractice? How do I choose a legit attorney to ask? Thanks!

33 active male ,6months ago my knee started bothering me while playing football,I recently broke my collar Bone and been out of sports for 3months. last month I started doing cardio for a hour a day . My knee started acting up again, Its really hard to explain, Its hard to place the problem area ,As I type now its behind the knee above the calf (numbing throb) its the right knee on the upper right side about where the thigh muscle ends,I can sometimes feel what I would describe as a rubber band stretching sensation right there.I get numb feelings in my foot and my calf, There was no sudden impact or injury it just kind of started. There isn't really much pain but just a weird feeling that isn't right.it almost feels that if I do start to run It might give out. I mountain Bike for about 14m on the weekends and it doesn't really bother me during that activity. Football starts in 2weeks and I'm a bit worried. Anyone have this same thing or info?sore tendon or something?cross my fingers

After three, 2 hour, sessions of spring soccer conditioning, my thigh muscles have been in severe pain. I know for a fact that I have not pulled or stretched a muscle. But yet I have rested for three days and I cannot bend my knees without sever pain. What could this be? I have not run in nearly three months, so could it be a build up of lactic acid? Should I try to run and stretch it out, or rest it until it feels better?

I had hernia surgery to my stomach two weeks ago. The incision is approximately 10 in long.

The area along the incision line is itching terribly and is driving me crazy. No sutures or staples were used, only medical glue. I know the itching is due to the healing process but is their anything else I can put on or around the area to stop the itching. (Out of calamine lotion, didn't know if I could use that anyhow) but will take any ideas.

I'm looking for a device that is similar to a walker, with a sling type thing for your knee to keep weight off the ankle. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, if there is a correct term for it and where (website) I can find one? My mom recently broke her ankle and has to stay off for 6 weeks. The wheel chair is cumbersome and she's having a hard time with crutches. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks so much!

First, if you don't know which muscle this is, please see here....

It does not hurt when I walk a smaller stride than usual, but to try and sit down and "rotate" my leg/thigh is very painful. I think I may have torn it, but ain't shelling out $1000 for an MRI just for them to tell me to put some heat or something on it.

If you've had muscle injuries, what have you done for them?

I had an eye lift due to health reasons. My ins. paid for it all. My skin has wrinkles between the nose & eyes & a large scar that looks bad to me & very noticeable on my right eye. I asked the optomologist to do the surgery over, and he says I think it looks good. Can someone tell me where I can get this done over by a cosmetic surgeon that lets you pay monthly. I am in SC. My ins. won't pay twice for this surgery.

I've had it for quite some time now i've never brough attention to it because it's painless. it's like a bone sticking out... i'm always tired but that's probably because of the lack of sleep.. i'm curious as to what it could be and if it's serious or not.. thanks.

Hello.

Four days ago, my husband and I were moving some furniture (really heavy pieces) and because my husband already has a serious back problem (Cauda Equina syndrome) I took on the brunt of the grunt work. Now I am hurt really, really really bad. The pain is in my lower back just above my waist and it radiates down to my rear and just short of my thigh. The pain is constant and sharp. The portion just above the waist is incredibly painful even to the touch and if I stand or sit a certain way, it gets worse, like someone is stabbing me with an electric dagger.

I've tried: motrin, tylenol and a few of my husband's muscle relaxers (meloxicam) and no releif. Hot/cold packs help momentarily only. I can't even sleep unless I am propped up in a contorted sitting position with pillows. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I am very afraid I have permanently messed up my back.

What can I do? What can I expect the doctor to do to help me? Can I get Xrays done about this?

I am 4 feet 11 inches, weigh 13 stone almost and have size 36F bra. Problem is I have ankle problems anyway and it feels like all my weight on the top half of me is compressing my knees and ankles, thereby making them click and feel like they're being squeazed. I'd luv to get hold of some crutches cuz I think I'd be able to do more with it if I had some to lean on. I'm also blind and my ankle bucks me off it on the smallest holes in the pavement so I am extremely fed up. Anyone got any ideas? Sorry to dump here butdon't think my doctor can help.
