Help... My lovely 3-year old hit her head against the edge of a glass table yesterday, and got a nasty cut smack in the middle of her forehead. Anybody have any ideas if I could do something to prevent the formation of an ugly scar? The cut was deep, but did not need stiching.

Cocoa butter daily now and then after the scab is ready to go, light massage.
Don't forget to put 30 SPF sunscreen on it every day when she goes outside. You need to keep sun off the tender edges 4-6 months or it could darken and be more visible. You will always have a scar with any skin injury but you can make it less noticable like this.
My 27 yr old daughter did the same thing when she was 3 but had stitches. It's barely visible.

Mederma is a very good scar cream but you would need to check with the Doctor first since she is a toddler. I know that vitamin E cream is very effective because I have had to use it in the past myself for scars from a car accident. I hope this helps and she is better soon.

You can go to your local pharmacy, and see what they can give you. My advice to you though, try Coco butter. It's very good. Extremely good. It's made from very good oils, and minerals helping the skin to cover up anything!
