I am 40ish, and started playing volleyball a month ago, I have jammed my index finger, it swells with over use, and is still tender, and sometimes painful. I have noticed that there is a small bump on my knuckle that was not there before. I feel the most pain if pressure is applied to the sides of this finger. I wonder what this bump would be, and will it go away? And...no I did not quit my volleyball team, I just guard this finger, and I have not put it in a splint, because my job requires all of my fingers in a busy office setting at the keyboard. I do ice it at home when it is swelled up.

I do experience some tingling when holding a cell phone but my tenderness and fatigue occur in thenar and hypothenar region of hand.|I can write something and have to take a break because of discomfort I experience. I also experience occasional tightness in my forearm that feels similar to my hand fatigue. Wrist splints haven't helped but haven't made it worse either. could this be exertional compartment syndrome of hand and forearm.

I have sharp pain in my back, under my right shoulder blade, for almost 2 years now, on and off. I've been told it's muscle inflammation, but nothing has seemed to work. I really want to find out exactly what's going on, and how to fix it. I've been going to a chiropractor for a few weeks now, and it started to feel a little better, but it's hurting again. Acupuncture might be my next option.

Okay here's the thing, yesterday, I scratched my leg with my pants on and that just didn't cut it. So I pulled my pants down and scratched directly on my skin. Well that felt great, but later that night, I noticed that my legs were sore to the touch. This morning when I got into the shower, I noticed that I have dark red scratch marks, little red spots, and huge bruises on my legs in the area that I was scratching. Does anyone out there know anything about that? I've noticed the bruises before, if I just bump my arm or leg or any part of my bosy against something, I end up with a gigantic bruise on my body. Can someone please tell me what is going on. I plan on going to the doctor in two weeks, but I don't know what to say is wrong with me. Thanks.

Has anyone else had a broken foot and continu to walk on it? I hate going to the dr. so I figure if it is really broken and I can still walk on it, why bother going? It only hurts real bad if I step on it the wrong wat, like bear too much weight on the outer portion of my foot. Also, I'm curious what your experience has been with a walking cast?

In my work I get lots of cuts and scratches. As an experiment I began to lick my wounds the way a cat would. It sure SEEMS like it helps. Does anyone know more about this?

I'm 19 years old and I broke my ankle (fibula) roughly 6 weeks ago playing soccer. I had a few screws inserted and a plate. I thought I was getting the fixator screw taken out today, but they didn't. My wound where the cut me open is infected so I'm on anti-biotics to treat that. Should I be worried? My leg is also really swollen so they've told me to keep it elevated for a week to reduce the swelling. Are there any suggestions that people can offer to help me with this? Also, the doctor told me I could 50% weight bear, but never actually explained what that is. So that's what I really want to know.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Hope you can answer my questions.

I wrecked after going to sleep with my seatbelt on head on into a phone pole going about 35 mph in a Chevy Lumina. I am still after five days having severe pains in my chest and ribs with no bruising there, pain upon moving from a lying flat position or sitting upright comfortably. I did not seek medical attention. I am worried something is broken or is this just typical soreness?

no less than 10 years ago, i broke my wrist. after it healed, i would get recurring pain in my wrist...i went to the doc, and he said it was "something" dystrophy. NO, it's not muscular dystrophy, and if you think it is, go look it up. anyways, why do i get pain? is it possible that i had nerve damage? it hurts sometimes when i lift something with that arm, or even if i just pinch my fingers together. what's going on?

I was doing lower leg raises. I did 3 sets of 20. Problem is I'm having back spasms now like crazy and my lower back muscles is contracting and It hurts badly. I've had this before. Someone told me if you do this execise you should have a back brace because it's similiar to doing deadlifts. I forgot to use a back brace the second time and now I'm having back spasms again. The last time these pains took like 3 to 4 days to go away. Anybody have any advice to rid the pain any sooner than 4 days. I've used ICY HOT, I've stretched and I took a hot shower letting the hot water hit my lower back. It hurts like hell. Also anybody ever had a similiar situation like mines?

Our Plastic Surgeon said that we should only apply any ointments after 4 weeks, but the instructions for Mederma says that it is safe to use after the wound is completely healed. It has been 2.5 weeks since the accident. The stitches have all disolved and their is no open wound. Does this mean that is completely healed? Should I start using the product now, or listen to the Surgeon? The scar is beginning to turn quite red.
