Are you talking about what you can do yourself, or what you should do for someone else?
Above all else, the first step is to ensure that you are safe. If you have witnessed some type of impact injury, make certain that the scene is safe for you to approach. This includes donning personal protective gear, such as gloves.
After that, depending on the type of injury, ensuring a patent airway is vital. This includes spine immobilization. Remember, if you don't have an airway, you don't have a patient. After airway is breathing and circulation, then a whole bunch of other stuff you didn't ask about.

If you are the rescurer......is the area safe to enter, do not become the next victim. ie; is there fire, electricity, water etc.
If you are not part of the emergency services call for help. Direct traffic/people away from the area they only get in the way.
1. Mechanism of injury
2. ABC, if no CPR
3. Cervical immmobilisation
4. Secondary survey.
Take it from there.

The usual A B C I would think...Airway, Breathing Circulation. Mind you it would depend if the impact was a car against a body or a hammer against a hand!!!
