R.I.C.E.......REST....ICE.... (but since it happened on Monday, you should apply moist heat like a water bottle, warm wash cloth) COMPRESSION..... (ace wrap it starting down by your toes and wrapping it up over the swoleen ankle) ELEVATION......(prop it up to heart level or above) and by all means, see a doctor! It may be broken!!! Hope you feel better soon!

You must have sprained it - it needs R.I.C.E. which stands for -Rest -keep your foot rested
Ice - use an ice pack on it
Compression - use a compression bandage - wrap it well
Elevation - keep your foot higher than your body while laying down
Unfortunately this can take up to 14 days to heal, if you don't rest it, it will take longer - sorry! Take some ordinary pain relief or some Ibuprofen for the inflammation. Good Luck!

if you broke your ankle you would definately know....I have had numerous ankle sprains and I know they are extremely painfull and relentless....Buy some Epsom Salt for soaking it in very warm but not hot water....follow that with an ice pack...when through wrap in in an Ace bandage and keep it propped up as much as possible and try not to walk on it much...Also Use a NSAID drug such as Aleve(Naproxen sodium). All these items can be purchased form your drugstore. ps. just came back to check on this post and now you say you are a minor and home alone and your dad wont take you to the doctor? You dont need his permission to get medical help if he is not around or unwilling to take you...if you really are in bad pain go to the hospital so they can help you...tell your dad if he does not take you you will go anyway, this is not illegal advice by the way because you are a minor child and I am an adult who cares that you are hurt. A parents duty is to protect the welfare of their children. If your dad has seen your ankle and thinks it is just sprained and that you are not in danger or whatever then you have to follow his advice...but if he has not ...You need to tell him it is urgent an cannot wait for his attention later because your are in PAIN!

Well, I play basket ball and soft ball. This happens alot. It sounds like you twisted it as you fell. This is a muscle issue. I think you sprained it by the sounds of it being swollen and such. OK here's some help. Alive is the best muscle pain killer, hot baths to soak it ( Some Epsom salt is great with the bath ) Keep cold compresses on it for twenty minutes after you soak it. Try to keep hot and cold packs on and off through out the day. Make sure you alternate them, like hot and cold , hot and cold, and such. This will help. After three days try to walk on it a little bit this will help. Hope you get better.

Take these two Homeopathic Remedies ARNICA 30 and RHUS TOX 30 thrice a day half hour before meals nothing works better on strained or sprained muscles then these two if the pain is too severe take them every 30 minutes till you start feeling relief.
Take care and God Bless you !

If you have tried ice and elevation without relief...you probaby need to go to the doctor for an xray. Sometimes a sprang will hurt worse then a break, but dont take any chances. If the ankle is broke and you wait too long...it will grow back together incorrectly....which may requires surgery to correct.
Hope this helps.

It sounds like a sprain. Use ice for the swelling. You'll have to go easy on it for a while. Give it about 10 days.

RICE! Rest ICE Compression Elevation and then if it doesn't get better go to the ER!It could be a compound fraction and you need it to heal right.
