General Health Care - January 2007

I've had sciatica since August of '06. The doctor did an MRI and found I have a herniated disc in my lumbar spine with stenosis. The pain wakes me up at night and is horrendous in the mornings. It hurts all the way from my back to my foot (on the left side). The neurosurgeon recommended surgery, but I am scared-plus I have other health issues. My husband also has disc problems and recently had his 1st nerveblock. It helped at first but now it seems to have worn off. I'm sick of living on painkillers and constant pain.

i been having really bad chest pains. like shocks in my chest,it feels like its to my heart. and it be hard for me to breathe all the time. it has gotton worse. sometimes when i get the shockes in my chest i hold my arm cuz it feels like it is in my arm. and sometimes i hold my neck. it has gotton worser. i do have a medical history of heart problems such as heart momur (not sure about the spelling). i feel like my heart is giving up on me. and also when i stand up i be about fall down and i blank out a lot...what could this be????? please tell me some !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everytime i go to bed i'm always awake for a good hour or more just laying there until i fall asleep and sometimes i just cant and i get restless and just end up getting up again. i dont want to take sleeping pills because i dont always have that much time they tell you, you need to sleep with the pills.
any ideas on what i can do?

I woke up this morning to go to the toilet, and I heard my neck crack loudly. Now I can't tilt my head to the left, its hurts badly!!! I've take panadol, I've put deepheat on it, nothing works. My heads been tilted all day and I look like a retard.

How do I make it better without anything painful.

Don't mean to be crude, just curious as urine doesn't smell up a public bathroom until it has been there awhile as when you get these people that take a dump in the public bathroom, they smell up the whole place.

i was in my daughters room saying goodnight and when i went to stand up i guess i did it to fast cause i hit my head on the medal pole from the top bunk, cause she has bunkbeds the medal ones, anywho my head still hurts and i have been getting these constant headaches and there some peircing ones. I am still awake & its driving me mad.
I am an accountant & have a day full of meetings & dealing with loads of crap & I know im gonna be soooo tired but I just cant sleep. I hardly slept Friday night & had about 3 hours kip last night but I just havent been able to get any shut eye tonight.
Does anybody have any tips on how I can get a good nights sleep?
My work & my energy levels are starting to suffer :-(

I was over at my cousins house doing a family thing when I guess I pissed one of them off cause she ran over and kneed me in the nuts. Its been a couple of hours but I'm still getting some pain, however there doesn't seem to be any swelling. Any ideas to help the pain.

Since Sophomore year(basketball incident), my knee has been messed up. All the doctors ive been to say that its fine, but its not...

Like if i sit down,
if I bend my knee more then 95 degrees for a long time it'll just lock up and i have to turn my leg in a certain direction to unlock it.
i was like "if there was nothing with it then why does it do that?"
Anyone have any experience in stuff like this?

I quit smoking 4 months ago, was alot easier than I expected but I have gained 10 pounds (which I want to start losing) My main problem is that I have just felt yucky and blah since I quit. I feel out of sorts, like nothing is right. Generally I just feel gross (my skin, hair, nails) and physically I haven't felt good at all. I haven't felt confident or really good since I quit. Is this just part of the "withdrawals" does anyone know or have advice? I think losing the 10 pounds will help some but how can I get over the "ucks"?? Would sssoooo much appreciate any help.

I was in a fight today and got kicked on my right knee, very bottom of the knee cap towards the left hand side. I saw a doctor, got ex-rays everything looks fine. He said take ibprofen ice it several times a day for 15 min, elevate it, and rest for seven days!!! Is it going to
hurt for seven days??!!! It feels stiff and its a very dull pain. Will it hurt tomorrow? Will it be really sore tomorrow? Does that mean I can't work? Do I need to call in? How much pain should I be in to call in? I don't want to hurt it worse. What do you think is wrong with it?
