you sound like my identical twin or soemthing...i really do have the same exact problem...it drove me nuts for the longest time, bc i would be so dead tired throughout the whole entire day...
i actually took up yoga classes! yoga is all about breathing excersizes and at nite, i just started counting my breathes and concentrating on the sound of me breathing...until i prettty much got bored and my eyes started to close...zzzzz

also, i like to drink a glass of red wine rite before i go to sleep...that always helps.

Here are some things you can do to help you sleep better:

Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, including weekends, even if you didn't get enough sleep. This will help train your body to sleep at night.

Develop a bedtime routine. Do the same thing every night before going to sleep. For example, take a warm bath and then read for 10 minutes every night before going to bed. Soon you'll connect these activities with sleeping, and doing them will help make you sleepy.

Use the bedroom only for sleeping or having sex. Don't eat, talk on the phone or watch TV while you're in bed.

Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. If noise is a problem, use a fan to mask the noise or use ear plugs. If you must sleep during the day, hang dark blinds over the windows or wear an eye mask.

If you're still awake after trying to fall asleep for 30 minutes, get up and go to another room. Sit quietly for about 20 minutes before going back to bed. Do this as many times as you need to until you can fall asleep.

here are the good site to help you get a goodnight sleep:

Have you ever been diagnosed bipolar? I am bipolar and sometimes do not sleep for days, 3-5 has been the longest when I am manic. Either that is going on, if this has happened before, or maybe you are worried about the meeting or something. Try some warm coco with marshmallows or warm milk. Turn the tv down really low and lights off. Try to clear your mind. If your mind still races like "a vcr on fast forward"...that's a very good sign of being bipolar and I suggest seeing a doctor.

Does he have his two year molars yet? My son was always a great sleeper until he would cut some new teeth. Then he would wake up and I'd just give him his passie and the corner of his blankie with the tag and he would go right back out. Just remember though if you are feeding him milk at 3am you'll need to brush his teeth or at least wipe out his mouth with a wet washcloth. I've seen a little girl with bottle rot and it's scary. She looked like a demon when she smiled with these yelllow fang like teeth. You don't want to go there.

Lie on your bed, close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing and try to focus on the tip of your nose.
